Well Michael, it’s a multi-factorial issue, but coming out of WW2, Europe was economically devastated and needed all the funds they had to rebuild. Since America was the wealthiest and strongest nation on earth, we cut a deal to provide defense for them in exchange for some economic conditions. WW2 ended 80+ years ago. Time to transition those dollars spent on an ungrateful Europe and strengthen our Nation and our Region. You’re welcome.
