@Arbutex_ @MercuriusFilius In your case— What happens if you pull an apple from the oranges bucket? It could be either apples or mixed, and you have no more information than when you started. Your method only has a 1/3 chance of providing you with the correct answer.

Always saw the biggest guy at my college gym eating sour patch kids inbetween his sets and my underdeveloped brain could not comprehend why a man so jacked would eat something so taboo (this was peak low-carb era). But now I understand. Fast carbs (glucose, dextrose, sucrose) enter your bloodstream immediately. Working muscles sucks that glucose out of your blood via GLUT4 transclocation, independent of insulin. You bypass the usual metabolic bottlenecks and feed your engines mid-burn. High intensity training is heavily dependent on glycogen and glycolosis. Burn through your glycogen stores and your performance suffers. Less explosiveness, no pump, more cortisol. Keeping your muscles fueled mid-workout gives you everything you want and need. Glucose has an osmotic effect. It pulls water into muscle cells and hydrates you at an intracellular level (very anabolic btw). You get better bloodflow, bigger/fuller muscles, better contraction. You can sustain peak output for the entirety of your workout. Its not just your muscles that are being fueled either. Your brain is a glucose hog. Low blood sugar during long sessions is the leading cause of fatigue and poor motor output. Hence why glucose microdosing is beneficial for cognitive tasks as well (especially hybrid psycho/physiological tasks like martial arts, sports etc.) Better yet, exogenous glucose blunds cortisol-induced tissue breakdown. Extremely anti-catabolic. You perform better, you feel better, you recover better, and you leave your workout less fried than you otherwise would. All while giving you a perfect excuse to get your sugar fix in guilt free.

@dr_ericberg I like to chew nicorette while fasting but am concerned that it is breaking my fast. What about Nicorette gum (non sugar)? Also what about PUR gum?

Consuming anything that causes a spike in insulin will break your fast. This is important to know while you’re doing intermittent fasting. Some beverages can trigger an insulin spike and immediately stop your fasting benefits. Let’s take a look at what you can and can’t drink during your fasting window: 1. Water: Yes 2. Water + apple cider vinegar: Yes 3. Water + lemon juice: Yes 4. Diet soda: No 5. Black coffee: Yes 6. Bullet-proof coffee: Maybe (may slow weight loss) 7. Coffee with cream: Maybe (if you’re using heavy cream) 8. Bone broth: No 9. Green and herbal teas: Yes 10. Coconut water: No 11. Coconut milk: Maybe (in small amounts) 12. Pre-workout (BCAA): No 13. Alcohol: No 14. Milk: No 15. Electrolytes: Yes (if no added sugar or unhealthy sweeteners)

I’m not going to be paying for @EdmontonOilers playoff tickets this year? Prices just not even close to worth it. Are you a season ticket holder … what’s your plan?

@ryanwhitney6 Seriously, why wouldn't they schedule some games in warm US cities where people would actually want to visit in the throes of winter? But I guess they had to give Canada something since they didn't win the Olympic gold, nor have won a Cup since 1993.

@ccmreid @GinoHard_ @FirstUp1050 @NHL You serious? If you're the better team you will advance. You're upset because you see a path where 1 of the 3 best in the west end up on the WCF? Than its an easy win there?? The dynamic changes each season. Bill is a whiner who sees a high probability they do not make the WCF

@tyleryaremchuk This team is not going to make playoffs. I am curious how they address the mistakes made in the past 3 years with managing the roster and coaching. You have players getting greater success on other teams once leaving @EdmontonOilers . Take the common denominator

Carolina wins by throwing pucks on net and winning puck battles. Oilers have zero interest in either. Just want to make cutesy passes around the perimeter. No drive to score ugly goals. The result is this. Gotta start winning soon, but running out of time.

@SchmiddyG We gave up the first yes, but think we now how 3.6M shed off our sheet next year and with Dickinson and Dach we can walk away if their shut down bottom six doesnt work. This is a great move. You're not thinking straight
