Holy wells: Mapping Ireland's hidden heritage bbc.com/news/uk-northe…

LMAOOO IM NEVER DELETING THIS APP

#HeritageOnOurDoorstep makes us think of what’s local. Everywhere is connected to somewhere, and maps of places invite us to take journeys in space as well as time. For a small town, Carrickfergus on Belfast Lough is particularly rich in its historic maps, dating back 500 years.

#MyHeritageWeek gives an excellent opportunity to celebrate the value of historic maps to explore our localities. The Digital Atlas of Derry~Londonderry was created for the 2013 ‘City of Culture’ year by @QUBGeography and @IHTA_RIA and includes a range of maps of the walled city

On today's theme of #HeritageNIErosionErasure, Heritage Hub's Prof Audrey Horning has penned some very thoughtful words on the beauty of erosion regarding artefacts! Great Stuff! #FestivalofArchaeology @NIMuseums #archaeologyunlocked @QUBEngagement

Loved searching out sites using the historic OS maps @PRONI_DFC 🌐 apps.spatialni.gov.uk/PRONIApplicati…, I found the 2nd edition six inch maps show holy wells more so than the 1st edition, keep searching 😁🔎 #HeritageNIHealthMedicine #HeritageNI #festivalofarchaeology

Our #wellwellwell blog series for @archaeologyuk continues today with @profkdlilley @Heri_Hub of 'Hidden Heritage of Holy Wells' looking at #healthandmedicine #wellsandwellness ulsterplacename.org/holy-wells/202…
