Will India ever openly test an ICBM with a range longer than the Agni-V? It’s reasonable to assume its actual (undocumented) reach is already close to 9,000 km, so what’s the next milestone?"

@Archit_Ch Seems like the whole UAV has been photoshoped on the sky Look at the resolution and pixel like feeling of the UAV...it's cut most probably from some promotional material and then pasted on the sky

I have been following the GTRE/ Kaveri Engine discussions intently. Before we go further, remember the Indian Air Force officer who started this journey: Air Vice Marshal Sailendra Nath Roy Chaudhury. Because he built the starting line. (1/25) #IAFHistory

DPB has approved the proposal to procure 60 Ghatak UCAV These will be state of the art Stealth UCaV with flying wing design to optimize stealth payload and range. Ghatak is going to be a 13+ ton MTOW aircraft with 3.7 tons of Internal fuel capacity which is more than Tejas. It will have an endurance of 14-16 hours making it ideal for ISR missions It will have a payload of 4 tons dristributed among 2 Internal Weapons bay as it can be seen in the wind tunnel testing It will be powered by a non afterburning Kaveri engine (KDE) which has a thrust of 49kN which will allow it to fly at 0.9 mach speed. Ghatak UCAV will incorporate multiple technologies ti make it more survivable on the battlefield such as 1 Frequency selective radome(FSS) = The radome surface is designed with special patterns that allow certain frequencies to pass while blocking or absorbing others. 2 EOTS = Electoro optical targetting systems used EO/IR sensors to track ground targets and it will be housed in a quartz dome to to maintain the Aircrafts stealth 3 IR management = As Ghatak only uses dry variant of Kaveri its IR signature wouldn't be as high as an aircraft using wet turbfan engine, along with that it will used Heat shielding radar blockers etc to further reduce the IR signature of theaircraft 4 Prognostics SHM(Structural health Monitoring) = It will be used to manition the structural integrity of thet aircraft in real time. 5 High Temperature RAM(Radar Absorbing Material) = Some parts of the Aircraft specifically near the engine get very hot, so it s necessary to develop a RAM which can perform at thos etemperatures. 6 It will also feature a low RCS Air Intake duct similar to the DSI in AMCA to reduce the frontal RCS of the aircraft. Credits to @ShiroBarks for helping me tremendously with a lot of points and pics

@KesariDhwaj @AnchitGupta9 When the HF-24 Mk1R (reheat) with tail modifications actually flew, performance was below what was estimated. Engineers much later identified the problem to be the increase in base drag. So Kurt Tank was maybe correct about not changing the tail.

The books tells the true story of why Marut could not meet is potential - Because Kurt Tank wasn't willing to change the design of the tail section and because of it, the reheat version of the engine which he had developed, could not meet its potential. As it is, Kurt Tank had already designed his fighter for the follow-up Argentine project which never happened. And when the IAF invited him to design a desi fighter, he gave Indians the same design. IA 43 Pulqui III became Marut!
