cinta’s death was handled disrespectfully, both coming off as “bury your gays” due to the timing after her and vel making up, and ALSO as the death of one of the only women of colour on the whole show (and universe) !! just because representation exists, it doesn’t make it GOOD

@Pandastarling39 @taskmasterfan I guess I haven’t noticed this phenomenon enough the recognize it as a trope, but it just feels ignorant to undermine the point of her death in the narrative of the show by just labeling it the “bury your gays” trope. I also don’t really agree that they “fridged” her character

@ArchonJaeger @taskmasterfan we are also not saying that every gay person has to survive. We are saying that they fridged her and then did the bury your gays trope. If one of them had to die here then they could have absolutely written it in a way that didn’t fall into those tropes.

@Pandastarling39 @taskmasterfan I understand that identity affects how the audience sees the story, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be directly tied to everything the character does or has happen to them. The point being made with her character could’ve been made with any established character

On Dec 15, our YouTube channel Onion Nuggetz ( [at]OnionNuggetz ) received a one-week suspension notice for a single video, with no indication that termination was imminent. On Dec 17, the channel was terminated entirely, with no additional strikes and no opportunity to remediate. This appears inconsistent with YouTube’s graduated enforcement process. Our channel is a news and commentary podcast focused on public figures. Enforcement on a specific segment may have been warranted, but escalation from a warning directly to termination skipped the standard steps outlined in policy. The channel had over 800 paying members and provided income for the hosts, whose families are directly affected by this action. The issue here is procedural consistency, not disagreement over enforcement authority. @TeamYouTube @YouTubeLiaison

She talked to them before the rally. She presumably gave her response there. But when someone is disruptive at your event, you shut them down. And based on the thunderous minutes long applause, it played just fine. It only rankles Twitter lefties, and they’ll be on to their next thing in two days.
