You can look at each individual Chargers guard non-signing and rationalize why they didn't sign player X or Y. Be it money, counting against comp formula, player wanting to play somewhere else, etc.
But at some point: you're kinda just standing there empty handed.

Banking on having great draft classes every year isn’t a viable strategy. Even great GMs can’t hit like that. If you’re just going to ignore FA one bad draft class will sink you.
