Each Axon and location he paints is articulated in a way to represent his family. Visages - He Who Guards Truth With Lies This whole island and Axon represents Verso. Being the middle child and the first son, his whole life he was conditioned to be perfect and do nothing less. He had to hide his emotions behind masks. Sadness, Anger, Happiness. All to be that perfect child for his parents. The Axon wore the masks, however its face is actually blank with no emotion. No one asked him what he wanted they did what was best for him. Just like the boy at the end of the game. Sirène - She Who Plays With Wonder This whole island and Axon represents Aline. Renoir adored Aline and loved her creativity and wonder. She shared her art with her children, and spent a lot of time with Verso with his music which she adored, which is why all the dancing. Her carefree nature was mesmerising and it is what Renoir fell in love with at first. The Reacher - She Who Grasps the Sky This whole location and Axon represents Alicia. Renoir tried to have Alicia reach for the sky, her true potential. She had the talent but being the younger child did not have the confidence in herself to do so. Renoir tried to encourage this skill and push her out of her comfort zone, by making her reach the sky despite her vertigo as a play of words. She felt alone, both in family and in the canvas, but he always cared for her. This Axon was a burnt Axon with one eye, living inside a protective barrier, meaning that she built up walls which limited her The Hauler - She Who Carries The World On Her Back This Axon was based in Old Lumière before being slain by Simon. This represents Clea. For Renoir, Clea the oldest child was always the one who carried everyone else's problems in the family, she was the fighter who kept everyone together. She tried to stop both parents from fighting in the Canvas, tried to protect Alicia on the outside and wanted the revenge for Verso. She is depicted as a creature holding the whole city on her back and being based in Old Lumière, she stayed and protected her home. Simon later freed this Axon of it's torment
