@jussychecker @xciteseeker @vancityrob18823 @BenSteiner00 I’m in construction and actually worked on the stadium. I would say your statement is actually pretty accurate with actual costs. A far cry from saying $157 bought 17 000 seats though.
English

@xciteseeker @vancityrob18823 @BenSteiner00 Boss, $157 million. everything you’ve listed should cost half that. It’s money laundering don’t be naive.
English

The renovations at BMO Field are complete and added 17,000 seats to “Toronto Stadium.”
It cost $157.9 million. Toronto City Council paid $132.9 million, while MLSE funded $25 million.
The new stands will have fans this month for #CanMNT

@TheFundView @m_lefave15 @CourtHeelsCP24 @GQPaulAnderson That end will feature a permanent structure closing in the stadium once the WC is over. The Football configuration will only need some of the lower seats removed.
English

@m_lefave15 @CourtHeelsCP24 @GQPaulAnderson So I guess you don't know that the Argos also play there so that "end" (I presume the north end" needs to accommodate a CFL pitch. You're another "every 4 years I pretend to care about soccer" fan aren't you?
English

@Joelbirmz12 I’ve done this. Had a tee time to make and Sunday called for rain. Also, why I switched to an electric mower. 😉
English

@B_Canadian_Ape @LaheyHNIC Yes, increased odds of getting scammed. Which is good, don’t buy from illegal scalpers.
English

@LaheyHNIC Good as long as it says difficult as possible for people to do it.
The buyers of these tickets are just as guilty as the sellers because they’re creating the market for the sellers
If it’s a lot more sketchy to get the tickets for the buyers, that’s a good thing
English

In theory this is brilliant
But in reality, people will just be coordinating money outside of the platforms to still sell for more
It’ll just be less secure
PuckEmpire@puckempire
BREAKING: Doug Ford is banning the resale of tickets for more than face value in Ontario. The government did not say exactly when the resale cap will come into effect, but that once it does, it will apply to all ticket resales going forward.
English

@phorne44 @Top100Rick Statistically, it’s less than 1% of people who enter, so actually meeting someone would be rare. I managed to win and get tickets, maybe we’ll meet someday. 😆
English

@Top100Rick I know it’s a tough one, however, never met anyone who won a ticket in the ballot. Having said that, I didn’t get tickets for the Open this year lol
English

Why is it that the Masters can do everything better than the billion dollar PGA Tour?
The power of a benevolent dictator.
Augusta and by proxy the Masters is run by the Chairman. They have committees, but he has the ultimate say.
The players get no real say. The advertisers support 100%. The Tours have no say, in fact they have effectively zero power against Augusta.
So ANGC can simply make the best product in the world and cut through all the bullcrap.
Yes money helps, but as we have learned from government, infinite money isn’t enough if incompetence and bureaucracy and corruption runs the show. The PGA Tour has been filled with that. (Seems to be getting better with the new boss.)
19 days!

Oh wow, the Masters launched a search function where you can find video of any shot hit from 1968-2025. 😳
English

@gregbradyx It’s a package though. Same workaround when we used to sell a ticket and a hockey card for $500.
English

I guess Hamilton ain’t too bad after all. 😂
6ixBuzzTV@6ixbuzztv
Cardi B calls out Hamilton, Ontario for being the only city on her tour that’s not sold out yet
English

@xciteseeker @gregbradyx What exactly do people think temporary stands look like? Concrete and steel means permanent. Do these people go outside? 😝
English

@gregbradyx No truth to his post as this type of seating has been done in numerous world cups in the past - in countries with deeper world football roots. The atmosphere is going to be electric. Nothing is perfect int he world. Be grateful for what you get.
English

@A_Schaffner89 The tarped off section is permanent, so it will close in that end nicely.
English

If only that stand had been made a permanent stand! Huge missed opportunity for BMO Field. Would be a formidable sight and home advantage. #CanMNT #CanWNT #TFCLive

I don’t think I was prepared for how HUGE that north stand was going to look from inside
English

@Computron200000 @jm_mcgrath It’s just common sense and real life experience. Things often lacking on this app.
English

@Computron200000 @jm_mcgrath What a load of horsecrap. Ontario transports are electronically limited to 105km. Now, there may be some who mess with the limiter to go slightly faster, but 160km would blow out almost every truck tire. They are rated for heavy loads, not speed.
English

@jm_mcgrath The last time I drove the 401, I was passed on either side of me simultaneously by 18 wheeler trucks going at least 160
English

@PiotrRetardo @jm_mcgrath Cops will drop the ticket to 15 over, so there’s no demerit points. Keep it at 95.
English

@Argonuts @jm_mcgrath Only if you're trying to keep the gauge on a hundred, don't cross that line and you're safe.
English

@PiotrRetardo @jm_mcgrath 100 on an 80 hwy outside some small towns is risky.
English

@jm_mcgrath Aight here’s a guide of Canadian speed limits for you John:
Freeway: 30 over
Highway: 20 over
Municipal/city road: 10 over
Small town: 5 over
401 got a speed limit bump so where we went 130 in 100 zones we now go 140 in 110 zones.
English

@LouStagner I’ve played the replica hole at Wooden Sticks 4 times. Came up short twice. Even with normal firmness, I’m sure it’s still hard to hold the green on the real thing. I’m guessing I’m on 25 times.
