@RoyceWilsonAU A large number of stores close at 20:00, so that's really bad advice.

I strongly advise people against visiting Akihabara during the day. It's a lot more interesting at night, but it seems to turn into a ghost town around midnight for the most part. Shibuya, on the other hand, was *exactly* what I thought Tokyo was going to be like (that's a good thing).

@Argos_dk @Tsu_hidden @MakenNihil Akihabara 20 years ago was a very different place. None of my japanese otaku friends even go there anymore and with onoden and the old volks hobby being demolished for urban redevelopment it might become as shit and soulless as shibuya.

@Argos_dk @Tsu_hidden @MakenNihil Compared to how it was 20 years ago it absolutely has become a cheap tourist trap and the prices are inflated. Prize figures for like 5000 yen to fleece tourists. You can get the same figures for 800 yen if you hop into a train to machida.

@Tsu_hidden @MakenNihil It's not a tourist trap by any reasonable definition of tourist trap. Many stores have an almost exclusively Japanese clientele, and many stores have the same prices as you will find elsewhere in the city. And there's still plenty of "freaky" stores.

@MakenNihil It was nice 15-20 years ago. Now it's a husk of what it was and a tourist's trap. E-commerce and tourists (who get scammed by overpriced stuff or get shocked by eroge stuff being casually displayed on the main street) killed the freaky side of Akihabara.

A year ago, I went looking for something like a Great Replacement Tracker — a site that aggregated all the demographic data for the West and could tell me how bad things really were. To my surprise, I couldn't find one. So six months ago, I started building it myself. Today, I'm announcing the first live version of the Great Replacement Clock. It tracks the European-descended share of the world's population and of 45 historically White countries. It consolidates historical figures and modeled projections into a single interactive timeline — sourced, auditable, and methodologically transparent. Accurate ethnic demographic data for Western countries is uniquely difficult to access. No country directly tracks the share of its population that is of European descent. Several nations prohibit or restrict its collection outright; France's ban on ethnic statistics is the most prominent but not the only case. In other countries, official statistics obscure long-term trends through inconsistent census categories and aggregation methods that flatten meaningful distinctions. They miss and misclassify people in predictable ways: bundling Middle Eastern and North African populations into "White," absorbing later-generation immigrants into "native," or recording European immigrants to other European countries as merely "foreign." The US illustrates this: up through 2020, federal standards classified Middle Eastern and North African populations as White. The result is a landscape in which some of the most consequential facts about the trajectory of Western societies are among the hardest to establish with precision. This project exists to close that gap. It draws on the best available demographic evidence to reconstruct the European-descended share of each population across time, using a consistent definition across countries and eras. The sources, assumptions, and adjustments behind every figure are open to inspection. This is a v1. If you spot a questionable figure, please flag it for review. I welcome feedback and contributions. This tool will only get better with time. Demographic composition is a matter of public interest, not a protected secret. We deserve to know what time it is.

This is a penalty reserved for white parents specifically. No inner city black mom or deadbeat black father will ever be arrested, much less sentenced to 15 years in prison, for the savage crimes committed every single day by their kids.

one thing i got from talking to right-wing anti-immigration figures in europe is that they are convinced if these illegal migrants aren't given inducements of welfare etc., they woudn't come, and they would go back.

It won't happen because people are stupid and fetishize random bits of land for nationalist reasons, but Spain should just let go of Ceuta and Melilla to be honest.
