@DrorBenNaim So, yeah, we are about there in terms of work needed. But we also now want a much higher standard of living than we did back then, so we continue to work 40+ hour weeks (social media and lattes notwithstanding).

@DrorBenNaim So, since that time GDP per capita in the US has gone up by about 4x. Which I guess means the average worker is 4x more productive (assuming similar ratio of worker/nonworkers)? So 40 hours of work in JMK’s day was needed to produce what 10 hours can produce today, more or less.
