JUST IN: Judge Provinzino in Minnesota has held a Justice Department attorney in civil contempt for violations of her order requiring the return of a released ICE detainee’s ID documents. He must pay $500 a day until the documents are returned.

I don't know the background on this, but unless the attorney is in actual possession of the identification documents, which seems unlikely (as opposed to ICE or DOJ having them) then he can't be held in contempt for any noncompliance by the client. Which is to say, this is more performative bullshit from an activist judge.
