Career and Technical Ed = great student performance! For example, Math is applied in construction measurements and financial forecasting. Science principles are used in healthcare and engineering. Reading and writing are strengthened through technical documentation, research, and professional communication. This integration of academic content promotes academic achievement. Career and Technical Education (CTE) is one of the most powerful strategies. #Arizona has to prepare students for both post-secondary success and meaningful careers. It is not a side program or an alternative track. It is a rigorous, standards-driven system that connects academic learning to real-world application and workforce opportunity. Today, more than 161,000 students across Arizona participate in CTE programs. These students are enrolled in nearly 90 approved programs of study offered across 144 districts and 326 schools statewide. The scope alone reflects its importance. The outcomes prove its power. AZ has a teacher shortage crisis. We need to do more to support teachers. Ranking 48th in K-12 spending, having some of the largest class sizes and the least supports (eg counselors), teachers are underpaid and burnt out. AZ spends the least on administration BTW.
