These statements about ontologies and what is “real” at bottom are quite silly. Everything we know or can know is a construct of the brain/mind, including matter, numbers, and the very language we use to describe them. We can’t break out of the Kantian trap and there is no use trying.

@LatFilosof It means that the universe is a mathematical object. There are no properties but difference. Causality emerges over functions that implement subsequent differences (transitions between information states)

@Kasparov63 @GaryMarcus It’s not about consciousness. What’s mysterious about AI is how language’s structure contains the inherent capacity to generate itself and to do so usefully. There is something very very surprising in that , enough to question some deeply held assumptions.
