Our set piece defending has been really poor, especially in the last two games. We conceded from a set piece against Alavés, and against Chelsea their first goal also came from one, with two more disallowed. If we defend like that today, Atleti will definitely punish us. We all saw what they did to Madrid and how dangerous they are from crosses and set pieces. We have to show improvement in that area today or it will cost us.

This is the lineup I’d go with today. I wanted Pedri to start on the bench so he could play the full second half instead of starting and then being subbed off after 60 minutes, but with Frenkie suddenly out, that’s no longer possible. Pedri has to start now, and hopefully he can push past the 60-minute mark if needed. I’m honestly not fully confident about using Martin at CB. I’m unsure this pairing can handle Sorloth, but we don’t have many alternatives. Flick hasn’t trusted Christensen lately, so we have to rely on Martin again and hope he delivers as a CB in a big game the same way he did against mid-table teams. It’s a gamble, but we have to take it.

@BouafifNour Christensen for Martin, you had ferran instead of Rashford in your suggested/expected lineup (your opinion though) Atleti are very good at set pieces and you need someone to neutralize that

@BouafifNour Is better to prevent a chaos rather than trying to solve it mate. Atleti will dominate the first 45 without him and Frankie and will most likely score at least a goal with that leaky defense of yours that even flick himself does not trust. I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays 90

I know everyone wants Pedri to start, but in my opinion that depends on how Flick plans to manage his minutes. If he is able to play 90 minutes or even around 75 to 80 minutes, then starting him is obviously the better option. But I do not think that will happen, because Flick has always been very cautious with players coming back from injuries, and I doubt he will give Pedri more than 60 minutes. And this is exactly why I prefer him coming on at half time and playing the full second half rather than starting and being subbed off at the hour mark. Unless we somehow finish the game in the first 60 minutes, which is very unlikely, i think he will have a bigger impact by playing the entire second half.

Watching us struggle against almost every man-to-man press we face this season, and then seeing how both Bayern and Arsenal built under high pressure today, honestly made me feel jealous. What happened to us? This was never an issue last season. We focus a lot on the high line and offside trap problems, but this is just as big of a problem for us this season and it was one of our biggest if not the biggest issue against Chelsea.

Intel Alert for Imo State: An imminent attack is impending around Nekede as may Fulani herdsmen have been instructed to strike inside that town. The order implies that Nekede will be overrun and taken over very soon. Timeframe is 1-2 weeks, they have been receiving supplies and ammo consistently for the last week. They have also been bringing in their fellow members from other regions. Many people in town have been seeing them on bikes but they’re not fully aware of their plans. Be prepared!
