I joined Mr Olalekan Fabilola, host of Masoyinbo, for a strategic conversation on preserving and promoting Yoruba culture in Agege Local Government. We explored initiatives to drive cultural competitions across primary and secondary schools, while strengthening collaboration with our community and traditional institutions to keep our heritage alive. Our culture is our identity, and we remain committed to protecting and passing it on to the next generation. #agege #avo #avoisworking #anewagegeisrising

Governor Abiodun Welcomes Tinubu to Ogun State Ahead of Visit Abiodun highlighted that the President will be commissioning landmark road projects, including the Ilishan-Iperu Road and the third phase of the Sagamu-Iperu-Ode Remo-Sapade Road. The itinerary also features the inspection of the Gateway International Airport Road, the Aviation Village, and an Independent Power Plant (IPP). Furthermore, President Tinubu is expected to flag off the construction of the Gateway International Conference Centre and oversee the distribution of essential equipment, including security vehicles, electric bikes, ambulances, and agricultural machinery. Governor Abiodun emphasized that these initiatives are a reflection of the state’s resolve to build a more prosperous Ogun while contributing to the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” He expressed gratitude for the President’s continued support, noting that the “Gateway State” is deeply honoured to host him as these projects stand as clear evidence of progress in infrastructure, security, and energy support. I don’t like it when people say Yorubas ‘corrupt’ foreign names, especially Arabic and English ones. We don’t corrupt them; we simply pronounce them in a way that fits the Yoruba sound system. That’s why Misbah becomes Musibau, or Peter becomes Peteru. It’s just a Yoruba thing. English does it too; many foreign names are often Anglicised. Arabic does the same; many non-Arab names in the Qur’an appear in Arabised forms. If ou prefer to retain the original pronunciation when speaking Yoruba, that’s perfectly fine. But we shouldn’t chastise people for Yorubanising foreign names. It’s a normal linguistic process. When I was much younger, I used to be upset when people called me ‘Nọjimu’, but not anymore, because I now agree that’s the Yorubanised version of my Arabic name.

After today's Lisabi Day Celebration and seeing all the beautiful images and Videos coming from the Celebration. brace up for all the abuses and !nsults that Ogun State will face about bad roads and misplaced priorities . The !nsults will go on from now till around 30th of May after Ojude Oba Festival and another round of fresh abuses would have been coordinated .

There's no comparison between Ojude Oba Festival and Lisabi Day in terms of which is best. Both Festivals represent the history of different groups within the Yoruba race and both have their unique style and organisation. Lisabi Day Celebration was done yesterday and it was colour and very successful Ojude Oba Festival eill he done in May (Exactly 2 months from today) and it'll come with its own uniqueness.
