A uniformed police personnel committing such a basic and serious breach of discipline deserves much harsher consequences. He should have been immediately dismissed from service. When a constable cannot even show basic respect and protocol to a senior officer like the Superintendent of Police, it raises serious questions about his attitude, training, and suitability for the police force. Such leniency only weakens the chain of command and sets a poor example for the entire department. Immediate termination would have sent a strong and necessary message that indiscipline will not be tolerated at any level.
