@Ranger_Elvira @Warcraft The main problem with BfA and Shadowlands is that the developers have chosen the path of less resistance. They don't need a complicated plot about gray morality and updating mechanics and locations. You just need to make an add-on and sell the six-month access to the game.

Respectfully, if somebody actually believe the modern day shouldn’t exist, then to me it feels like they don’t really care about Assassin’s Creed. Strip the modern day out, and you’re left with one of the most generic formulas in a game. The real solution is improving it. Because you can’t tell me the modern day from AC1 > AC3 wasn’t interesting. And even later on in Valhalla with Basim, The Reader, Alethia, Yggdrasil, the Great Catastrophe, etc. That was genuinely interesting. The problem was never the idea. It was how inconsistent it was handled. It's also a shame because most of Assassin's Creed's best writing isn't even in the games, but rather the comics which nobody even reads. I recommend somebody to go read The Chain & The Fall and you will realise how disturbing and well written the modern day is in there.
