Say goodbye to Dropbox, iCloud, and OneDrive subscriptions. Someone open-sourced a sync tool that replaces all three for $0. And no company can shut it down. It's called Syncthing. Here's how it works: Every cloud storage company on earth routes your files through their own servers. That's not a technical requirement. That's a business model. Syncthing skips the server entirely. → Your devices connect directly to each other → Every transfer is TLS encrypted with perfect forward secrecy → Every device is authenticated by a cryptographic certificate → Nothing moves without your explicit permission → Works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, FreeBSD No account. No subscription. No company holding a copy of your files. Dropbox can raise prices. iCloud can change its terms. Google Drive can shut down tomorrow. Syncthing runs on your own machines. There's no server to breach. No company to pressure. No subscription to cancel. One install. Your devices. Your files. Your rules. 100% Opensource. syncthing.net

This podcast clip was 100% built with Claude. You bring the script and the idea. Claude builds the workflow. One run, raw output ready for post. RT + comment "workflow" and I'll send it to you.
Ahmad@ahmad_a_wahabb

Made this podcast clip in 15 minutes. No studio. No actors. No camera crew. Script is rough. This was a system test, not a real ad. When I write for a brand, the script is the whole game. This is what AI ads look like in 2026, and most brands are still paying $10k for a shoot. DM if you want one for your brand.

you don't need to pay for ElevenLabs & WisprFlow subscription anymore. someone just open-sourced BOTH in one app. completely free. runs locally. no API keys. no usage caps. → clone any voice → global dictation hotkey → your agent can talk back → 7 TTS engines → 23 languages here's how to set it up under 5mins: 1/ download mac (apple silicon): voicebox.sh/download/mac-a… mac (intel): voicebox.sh/download/mac-i… windows: voicebox.sh/download/windo… docker: docker compose up open the dmg, drag to applications, launch. 2/ clone your voice (60 sec) → profiles tab → + new profile → name it, pick a language → upload a 10–30s clean audio sample (or record live in-app) → save that’s your voice. reusable across every engine. 3/ generate speech → generate tab → pick your profile → type your text → hit generate first run downloads the model (one-time). after that it’s a few seconds per clip. pro tip: use chatterbox turbo + type / in the box to drop in [laugh] [sigh] [gasp] tags. 4/ give your AI agent your voice this is the part that broke me. voicebox ships with an mcp server. add it to claude code / cursor / cline once, and your agent calls voicebox.speak to talk back in your cloned voice. settings → mcp → copy the snippet into your agent’s config. done. 5/ dictate into anything → settings → dictation → set a global hotkey → hold it anywhere on your system, speak, release → transcript pastes into the focused text field slack, email, code, browser — works everywhere. 6/ that’s it. no api keys. no usage caps. no audio leaving your machine. you just replaced two SaaS subscriptions with a 200mb native app. github.com/jamiepine/voic… follow and turn on post notification for more content that helps you maximize the use of AI.

you can now start your clipper journey with this free, open-source tool. just set it up locally on your PC, paste any video or podcast link, and it automatically generates multiple short clips you can post across socials. here’s how to set it up: → copy the github repo and pass it to your agent to clone → it handles the setup and gives you a local hosting site for the tool → add your API keys: > aistudio.google.com(free) — required for core AI features > fal.ai (pay-per-use) — for AI shorts (actor generation, video, lip-sync) > elevenlabs.io (free tier) — for voiceovers and dubbing once you’re set, paste any video or podcast link into the tool and it’ll generate multiple clips in minutes. I’ve dropped the github link in the comments.

This took longer to read than it should have, 2 months, big book, takeaways, states and mayors competing works, also needs a variable reward mechanism, winners get bigger states, the more subtle takeaway if you want to change something don't forget to praise your predecessor even if you don't mean it :), people want change but don't like to change... 7.5/10, largely cos of how similar many of the themes are relative to wr the world is today.

Personne n'a planifié.

70 years ago in 1955, John von Neumann wrote an epic and prescient essay: “Can We Survive Technology?” … He saw that technology’s spatial reach was catching up with Earth’s actual size, while political organization remained stuck at smaller scales, and that human reaction time is a fixed constant while the technological tempo only accelerates — so each new generation of tools enlarges the unit affected by any single decision until the unit becomes the planet itself! 🌎 From this logic, he drew the conclusion that no procedural firewall, no institutional design, no advance solution can absorb the resulting risk; only ongoing judgment exercised in real time by agents with skin in the game can. sseh.uchicago.edu/doc/von_Neuman…

Bengal is not just Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose and Tagore. It is also Raja Rammohan Roy, Vidyasagar, Bimal Roy, Amartya Sen, Mahasweta Devi and Satyajit Ray. Those who mention the former without the latter haven't got their Bengal right. It is a thinking and FEELING community for which life is much bigger than the economics of pomp and vanity.
