Max Iheanachor is quietly one of the highest upside players in this entire draft. 6'5+" 320 men simply aren't supposed to move like that. RARE agility for a Tackle. A lot to clean up with his technique but get this man with a good OL coach and look out.

Good morning. The Chiefs should trade up into the top 5 to better their chances of drafting Rueben Bain or David Bailey instead of sitting back at 9 in the hopes that one or both of them fall to them. Brett Veach has the draft assets in 2026 and 2027 to be this aggressive and in my opinion, the Chiefs cannot afford to miss out on a blue chip edge rusher if they plan to make 2025 a thing of the past. This team’s greatest need is getting to the opposing QB. The best way of making that a reality is going all in on getting the best pass rusher in the draft. That could be Bain. That could be Bailey. I will gladly take either. Either way, one of them needs to be wearing red and gold on Sundays. Get a real difference maker at edge and this team as a whole elevates back to where they’ve been for the better part of a decade. Being aggressive with their first pick is not only justifiable and necessary, it’s vital in them getting back to Super Bowl contention.

If this is what the board looks like when the Chiefs are on the clock at 9, what should they do?

If all of these players end up still being available at Pick #9, who do you want the Chiefs to draft?

It’s just a weird sickness at some point, this level of greed. You have $200 billion dollars. You could wipe your ass with $100 bills and keep getting richer every day. Why kill thousands and thousands of jobs at this point?

Since Andy Reid was hired as their head coach, the Chiefs have drafted 11 WRs. 6 of those WRs have been drafted since 2018 and 4 of those 6 were drafted within the first 2 rounds. Here are the averages for all 11 WRs during their rookie seasons: 24 receptions 289 receiving yards 2 receiving TDs Here are the averages for the 6 WRs drafted by the Chiefs since 2018 in their rookie seasons: 31 receptions 395 receiving yards 3 receiving TDs Here are the averages of the 4 WRs the Chiefs have drafted since 2018 within the first 2 rounds: 47 receptions 591 receiving yards 5 receiving TDs No matter how you break it down, it has been proven throughout the Andy Reid era that he does not rely on rookie WRs to be THE GUY. Yes, players like Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill have been the ones that carried the load for most of if not all of that time. Tyreek Hill has been gone since 2022. Travis Kelce is 37 years old. They're no longer available or capable of being THE GUY. Some would say or assume that Andy Reid will change his mentality on how he utilizes rookie receiving options, but what has he done this offseason that makes you think that will be the case? By bringing back his old OC that helped him orchestrate an offense that didn't use rookie WRs? By bringing back 37 year old Travis Kelce to naturally and inevitably get 100+ targets because of the chemistry and reliance Mahomes has in him? Nothing has convinced me that Andy would ever rely on a rookie WR to be the one that his offense goes through or rather, throws through. Rashee Rice is the only rookie WR in the Andy Reid era that ever produced at a decently high level with 79 receptions for 938 yards and 7 TDs. But 43 of his 79 receptions, 518 of his 938 yards and 3 of his 7 TDs came in the final 6 games of the 2023 season when the Chiefs knew they could not rely on Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore who they spent the first 2+ months of the season doing everything they could to get anything from either one. Outside of that, these rookie WRs have been utilized as nothing more than role playing rotational assets. That could be due to them not being as good as the Chiefs expected them to initially be. It could be due to the fact that Andy Reid simply doesn't trust rookie WRs. It could be due to both. But the evidence strongly suggests that it's due more to scenario #2. The Chiefs will go WR in the 2026 draft. The Chiefs NEED to go WR in the 2026 draft. But going WR with their first pick of the 2026 draft goes against everything Andy Reid has done in his Chiefs tenure. And unless the Chiefs have some unforeseen plan in adequately answering their bigger need at edge, it would be irresponsible going with any other position with their first pick.
