Shakatu is actually shown in a very good light in the game as you can see here. I randomly encountered an NPC I helped earlier in the game. The worldbuilding dialogue shows Shakatu is delivering on his promise to Kliff. Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world action-adventure game developed by Pearl Abyss and released on March 19, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Set in the high-fantasy continent of Pywel, players control Kliff of the Greymanes mercenaries after a devastating ambush by the rival Black Bears scatters the group. Shakatu is a shrewd, green-skinned goblin-like merchant in the Goldleaf Merchant Guild whose opportunistic rise to power players support through key quests help the entire region breathe in relief thanks to actions such as these.
