CNN: Do you like capitalism? ZOHRAN MAMDANI: No. I have many critiques of capitalism. In the words of Dr. King decades ago, he said, 'Call it democracy or call it democratic socialism; there must be a better distribution of wealth for all of God's children in this country.' And that's what I'm focused on, is dignity and taking on income inequality.

Visiting family in a small town, took my kids to their local library. An air-conditioned daycare for the tired, fat librarians' kids. Autistic teens play Roblox for hours. A couple people check out Nintendo games. You can do this now, at the library. An exhausted mother naps in the corner while her feral children terrorize the play area. A disheveled boomer asks for help applying for jobs. She doesn't want to just use the computer, she wants someone to sit there and fill out the applications for her. "Can you help me?" she asks, confidently. "I'm gonna need some help." A saintly librarian demurs -- not her first rodeo. "I've got a bunch of projects I'm supposed to do today." But eventually she relents, spending the next hour walking the woman through every single question for Walmart and a local factory. "Are you willing to work holidays? Have you ever had a felony?" (Yes. Yes.) Maybe she can't read. The librarian even ends up paying out of pocket the fifty cents to print some things off for her. Barely making it in America.

When you walk into a grocery store as a millennial you hear songs that were played when you were younger. It creates a familiar atmosphere. Like the world is for you. But then you realize this is the reality that boomers have been living in for 40-50 years and you can see how it can warp their view of the country
