@farmingandJesus Same. I make people mad because I tell the truth. And often I need to repent of how I am telling the truth. I had a good friend tell me once that she likes seeing what people are doing in their lives on social media but not the doom and gloom. I’m doom and gloom. 😂

The world tells you to follow your heart. God tells you your heart is deceitful. One path leads to self-worship. The other leads to repentance, truth, and life. The most dangerous lies are often the ones that sound the most natural.

Churches hurt each other because we are still in the battle of sin. Jesus also warned us that there are weeds among the wheat and they must not be plucked out until the harvest, until the wheat is fully grown, until the end of the age. I love God’s church. And I know He has a plan and it is good. It is better than my plans could ever be. ❤️

The situation that I find myself in this year has made me love the Gospel even more. God has gifted me with a deeper appreciation for Him and His Word. He loves us so much that He initiated reconciliation towards us. He even graces me to tell me in His Word that He will reason with me about what He did for my sins so that I might repent and turn from my sins to receive His gift of forgiveness. A broken and contrite heart, He will not despise. I am undeserving that He would not turn me away. I deserve to be turned away. I deserve rejection. But thanks be to Christ! Who chose rejection that I might be adopted into His family. And in Heaven, all will be made right. He will wipe away every tear. This suffering is not the end of His Story. And it’s nothing compared to what Christ suffered and those who are persecuted for their faith. May we always remember The Gospel in our suffering, brothers and sisters. ❤️

The New Testament does not present shepherds as religious CEOs, program managers, or weekly sermon-givers. Christ gives shepherds and teachers "for the equipping of the saints... until we all attain... the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" ~Eph 4.

Brother, there is a mystery and a veil to God’s Sovereignty that we will not understand on this side of Heaven. But I can’t deny that it was Him who called me to Himself. I would choose sin without Him intervening in my life. I hope we can all remember what Paul said: Preach Christ Crucified and nothing else.

@clbolt @RisingDisciples That makes sense. So everyone’s definition of reformed is different depending on what camp you are in.

@AryMarie7 @RisingDisciples Presbyterians won’t let you claim that title but someone like MacArthur fit your bill. Typically Reformed means Covenant Theology as well so it really comes down to what we mean by Reformed. I’m bullish on the Five Solas.
