I am heartened to see so many people back in Saltivka, #Kharkiv city, after the horrors they experienced last year when their area was under attack. @UNHCRUkraine has repaired windows in 660 apartments and the work continues, so families can stay warm in their homes this winter.

@A_Sokolnicki Kvotsystemet är per definition för de mest skyddsbehövande och utsatta, inte för ”driftiga”. Tvärtom - det är en humanitär insats att rädda dem. De ska inte behöva vara lönsamma för värdlandet. Av de dryga 1 milj mest utsatta i världen kan Sverige klara 900.

@anneramberg Kvot-systemet innebär att UNHCR identifierar de flyktingar i världen som har allra störst skyddsbehov, som får svårt överleva utan vidarebosättning. T ex sjuka ensamma mammor, hbtq-personer. Nödhjälp för de mest utsatta kan inte förenas m krav på driftighet.

Yesterday, @UNHCRUkraine took part in the UN interagency convoy to the frontline town of Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast to deliver life-saving aid to people living in the area under daily shelling. We brought emergency help including blankets, solar lamps & solid fuel heaters.

Jordbävningen i Gaziantep förfärar. För ett år sedan var jag där och besökte UNHCR. Staden hade välkomnat så många flyende från Syrien. Ca 30 procent av invånarna är flyktingar. #unhcr #sverigeforunhcr
