I was on the phone today with a friend who’s deep in the startup scene in San Francisco. His eyes completely lit up as he was telling me about the scene there right now. “It’s AI pandemonium out here!” People are flying in from all over the world. They just want to be part of this moment. He said you walk into coffee shops or restaurants and hear every language you can imagine. Young people everywhere, all chasing the AI craze, and they’re all on Claude code all day doing crazy things. He told me the level of disruption right now feels like an absolute gold rush moment. They’re 100% convinced this is the beginning of a massive technological change that will completely change society. Apartments are hard to find. Rents are surging. People are doing whatever it takes to be there. It’s a massive gold rush and everyone wants in.

@realEstateTrent What really freaked me out when I attended a Little League game recently—their slogan was very cult-ish. Like, do little kids really need indoctrination into hardcore nationalism? Can’t they just do ordinary fun kid things without the bullshit brainwashing?

Yesterday, my six-year-old son had his first Little League game of the year. I absolutely kid you not when I say I think at least a third of the parents on the team truly believe their son will one day make the major leagues.

Men continue to allow other men to behave like this. Summer of 2013 we ousted Bob Filner in San Diego, and a lot of people involved in that helped Swallwell get to where he is today. It’s disgusting and all too familiar.

I’d really love it if the train of so-called feminist men would do a little less talking & a little more action. The word about Swallwell & women issues has been out there and credible since at least 2018. It was just more politically expedient to support him…until today? 🙄

One of my flaws is balancing cooking at scale. I’m cooking for two and the kid wanted pasta bolognese. I’ve made enough bison bolognese to feed 20 people.

I am getting an all-natural high from watching the Hoarders show while cleaning/organizing my house. Getting rid of stuff has never felt so good.

@TahraHoops Seems to me this proposal is terrible for Congressional Dems. Average public is going to think they got a check from Trump, tariffs are amazing, live long tariffs and vote GOP. Until 5 minutes ago Trump was literally advocating for tariff checks to be sent out.

Trump says families should go to court to get their money back, insinuating that it would be a waste of time given it could take up to 5 years. Democrats are finally framing this correctly: Trump raised your taxes, and now he won't give it back. latimes.com/world-nation/s…

Senate Dems just introduced a bill to refund $175B in illegally collected tariffs, about $1,300 per household with a focus on "refunds to small businesses and encourages importers, wholesalers and large companies to pass the refunds on to their customers." It would be smart of them to continue pushing on this.

Look forward to seeing firsthand what a disaster this is later this week
