A new report now shows that every single day,17 to 24 children go missing in Kenya.
In 2024 alone, over 8,800 kids were reported missing. That's families destroyed, parents crying every night, and children who may never come home.
Little Luther Mwangi, a 5-year-old autistic boy, disappeared on 15th April 2026 near Baptist Church in Dandora Phase 4. Weeks later, he's still missing. How many more like him need to dissappear for something to be done? Why is this happening? Who is preying on innocent children never to be seen again? Are these children being abducted ,trafficked, or taken by people who know them. Yet the silence from those in charge is deafening.
Why is the Government of Kenya, State Department for Children Services, @DCI_Kenya, and all responsible agencies quiet? @husskhalid
Why the slow response? Why so little public updates or urgent action? Our kids deserve protection, not quiet offices.
If you see a lost or suspicious child, speak up immediately. @sholard_mancity

What happens when a mother starts bleeding after birth?
For many, it turns fatal within minutes. Postpartum haemorrhage remains one of the leading causes of maternal deaths.
But a simple drape, costing about KSh 500, is helping health workers detect blood loss early and act in time.
Scaled from an idea by Prof Zahida Qureshi to a global intervention, it is a reminder that impactful solutions do not always have to be complex.
Small tool. Life-saving difference.

I’ve signed a petition calling for accountability over the humiliation of a Grade 10 student in the Kenyan Senate. No child should ever be degraded in public institutions. Join me in demanding action and stronger protections for children’s dignity: amnestykenya.org/petition/petit…

A Kenyan by the name Elias Wekesa has taken Safaricom to court, and every Kenyan should pay attention.
He says Safaricom deactivated his line after it stayed inactive for a few months, then reassigned it to another person.
When he tried using it again, he was met with a shock.
The number was gone.
Worse, he says he could no longer receive OTPs from his bank and other platforms tied to that number.
This case matters because it touches every Kenyan.
Because your phone number is no longer just a number.
It is tied to your bank account.
Your email.
Your work accounts.
Your private life.
The moment that number is handed to someone else, the risks begin.
OTPs can go elsewhere.
Recovery codes can land in another person’s hands.
Account alerts can reach a stranger.
That person is not just holding a SIM card.
They may be holding access to parts of your digital life.
And if they have bad intentions, the damage can be immediate.
And for families who have lost loved ones, it cuts even deeper.
A parent’s number.
A sibling’s number.
A loved one’s number.
One day, it holds memories.
The next day, it belongs to a stranger.
This is why Safaricom must be forced to create stronger safeguards before reassigning numbers.
Because in today’s world, a phone number is not disposable.
It is identity.
And identity should never be reassigned without protection.

#MiamiGP 🇺🇸 | Lewis Hamilton says he didn’t consider the time off F1 a “break”:
“I didn’t really have a break. It’s been interesting like, people looking at it as a break. We’ve been just given more time to focus.”
“I’ve been at the factory every week, a lot of training, spent a lot of time with my physios… What else? chiropractors, recovery, just a lot of sports. I didn’t take any time off. Just really focusing on it.”
HR fired a Gen Z for performance. No goodbye, no proper send-off. Two weeks later, the whole system started failing. Turns out he was the only one who understood it. They had to call him back… as a consultant
Ethiopia has made steady progress in reducing maternal and newborn deaths, with significant declines over the past two decades driven by strong primary healthcare systems.
Maternal mortality, for example, dropped sharply from over 900 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2000 to around 267 in 2020.
At the centre of that progress is a system built around community health workers, early care and consistent follow-up.

Kenya has now officially banned phones without USB Type-C charging ports, effective from March 24, 2026.
The move has created tension and panic in the market overnight, with no transition period, no warning, leaving importers and sellers scrambling
My daughter texted me from a party:
“Mom, do we still have ice cream at home?”
We don’t. That’s the code.
“Ice cream” means: come get me right now.
“Cookies” means: call me in five minutes with an excuse.
“Nothing” means: I’m okay.
She said ice cream.
I didn’t ask questions. I didn’t text back.
I just grabbed my keys and drove.
When she got in the car she said quietly,
“People started bringing out things I didn’t want to be around.”
We drove home in silence.
Every kid deserves a way out without having to explain themselves first.
Lewis: “to be up here with him whilst he got his first pole, and now to get the first win.. It’s truly special – I remember getting my first [win]…”
Kimi: “I was one year old, by the way.”
Lewis: “You were born in 2006, right? That’s ridiculous!” 🤣🤣🤣
