"Oppressed nations do not need Pahlavi or Khomeini, oppressed nations only need freedom"
The grave violations of human rights in Iran have once again exposed the fact that this oppression is not a temporary or accidental act, but a long, systematic and ideological continuum. The Iranian state, whether during the monarchy or in the current system established in the name of religious democracy, has always appeared as an occupying force for non-Persian peoples. The disrespect for human life, collective punishment and the politics of fear have been the main pillars of the continuity of this state.
The policies implemented in the name of "nation-building" during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi and later Mohammad Reza Pahlavi were in fact the beginning of cultural and political genocide. Restrictions on the languages of the Baloch, Kurdish, Ahwazi Arab, Turkmen and Azeri peoples, the elimination of local autonomy, military repression and the centralization of resources turned these regions into internal colonies. The Pahlavi-era notion that a single Persian identity was the origin of Iran was a systematic attempt to erase the collective existence of these peoples.
After the 1979 revolution, many hoped that the system established under Khomeini’s leadership would provide justice to oppressed peoples, but this hope soon proved to be a bitter disappointment. Behind the veil of religious slogans, the same centralized, oppressive state emerged, more ruthless and bloody than ever. The military aggression in Kurdistan, the large-scale genocide in the Baloch regions, and the crackdown on Ahwazi Arabs during Khomeini’s era made it clear that the problem was not the nature of the system but the mentality of the state. Genocide was no longer just cultural but also physical, where executions, enforced disappearances, and mass graves had become the norm.
The same state logic was also implemented with full force in occupied Balochistan, where both Iran and Pakistan have forcibly divided the Baloch land and maintained their dominance. The Baloch people face similar policies in Iranian-occupied Balochistan and Pakistani-occupied Balochistan: military occupation, plunder of resources, killing of political voices, and criminalization of identity. These are not just separate policies of two states but a common colonialist attitude aimed at dividing and weakening the Baloch nation.
The struggle of a united Balochistan is a natural reaction against this historical oppression. The Baloch people’s freedom movement is not the product of any external agenda but an attempt by a divided nation to save its existence. The demand for freedom from both Iran and Pakistan reflects the awareness that as long as the occupied borders exist, the cycle of violence, deprivation and genocide cannot end. The concept of a united Balochistan is not just a political slogan but the foundation for justice, freedom, sovereignty and lasting peace in the region.
Internationally, Iran is often presented as a historical contrast between the Pahlavi dictatorship and the Khomeini dictatorship, but for non-Persian nations, these two periods are different links in the same chain. One erased identity in the name of nationalism, the other committed genocide in the name of religion. In both cases, the result was the same: genocide, oppression and an attempt to impose silence.
Today, the resistance of the Baloch, Kurdish, Ahwazi Arab, Azeri and Turkmen peoples is bound by a common historical consciousness. This consciousness recognizes the fact that freedom is not demanded but achieved through a long struggle. State violence may temporarily try to suppress movements, but history has repeatedly proven that occupying powers cannot ultimately stand in the face of the popular will.
If the international community truly believes in the principles of human rights, the prevention of genocide and freedom, it must stop ignoring the policies of both
#Iran and #Pakistan as purely internal affairs.

Balochi word Neg (نِگ)—meaning "good"— In Balochi, we see Neg preserved in compounds like Neg-baht (نِگبَهت), meaning "fortunate" or "lucky." It is a direct cognate of the Persian Nēk (نیک), both stemming from an ancient lineage of words denoting "blessed" or "valiant.
