In 2024, @sats_ventures invested in a team building a Bitcoin cross-chain DEX. As the months went on, it became clear they were considering a pivot away from Bitcoin. Updates slowed, the energy shifted, and the uncertainty around the pivot was clearly weighing on them. Instead of stepping back because they were moving away from Bitcoin, I leaned in. I suggested weekly calls. Not to convince them to return to Bitcoin, but to understand their new direction and figure out how I could help. I wasn’t an expert in their new ecosystem, nor did I have a deep network there. But I knew what needed to be done: create structure, set checkpoints, align on key goals. Together, we defined three: launch mainnet, generate real revenue, and secure strategic backing. Months later, they achieved every one of those milestones. For me, this is what @sats_ventures is about. Not just writing a cheque, but rolling up our sleeves alongside founders, especially when the path leads somewhere unexpected.

after spending more time digging into the 'chain abstraction' meta and the 'app chain' meta, im officially cosmos pilled. chain abstraction: ibc is probably one of the best bridges out there. cheap, fast, and secure settlement. u dont need to understand the underlying tech to know this, u just need to use the product. app chain: seeing the likes dydx and hyperliquid choosing cosmos over eth dramatically changed my priors. originally i thought dydx choosing cosmos was just a one off. but now with the likes of hyperliquid also going for cosmos its no longer a coincidence. for some reason cosmos is well behind ethereum even tho their visions r converging. maybe what cosmos is lacking is a cult leader like vitalik and more vocal technical evangelists like mert. in a parallel universe where vitalik didnt feel so jaded by btc maxis and start ethereum in 2014 cosmos wouldve won. history is path dependent etc etc.
