I’ve been making music for 10 years. I’ve spent over 40k on lawyers and 0-1 visas just to be able to live in the US and pursue my dream. For 8 of these years I worked at any shit under the table job I could find to support myself and stay here. I’ve been making music and creating as a full-time job for only the last couple years. Still working myself out of debt. Still trying to fund my career independently without having to sign the deals I’ve been offered. Being an independent artist means finding a ton of ways to support yourself. I’ve touched on this before but I create content, mint NFTs, sell sample packs, write custom songs for clients, do uncredited vocal work, etc, to support myself. This is the first year I’ve flown back home for the holidays and haven’t been completely stressed about where my next check was coming from and when. I’m working on my first full-length album and recently applied for a couple different grants to help me realize this project. My community on here has been the most inspiring and encouraging thing I’ve ever experienced in the last 10 years. My community has also been able to donate thousands of dollars to a number of different charities- all through minting music on-chain. 10 years in and we are just getting started. Beyond grateful for anyone who is in my corner in any small way. I can’t wait for you to see what we do next.

Writing a newsletter every week has honestly been pretty hard this year as nfts faded. But it's still the best thing I did. It opened up amazing opportunities and connected me with people I've admired for years. It also forced me to research, try new things and build conviction positions through the bear market ... which paid off in December bigger than the rest of the year combined. Many weeks it felt pointless but I think I'm finally past that point and can't wait to keep going next year. If anyone is looking for a new year resolution I highly recommend writing a weekly newsletter. I guarantee you'll look back in a year and see progress. Thanks to everyone that read and subscribed this year! See you in 2024 🫡

This holiday season is tough for me. It is my first Xmas without either of my parents. If you didn’t know I lost my mom to cancer a decade ago and this year dad also passed away.
