It is utterly disgraceful that illegal construction mafias are being allowed to operate openly next to DPS Srinagar under the banner of Encash Mahindra. Commercial structures are rising on residential land with illegal residential permissions granted on plots meant for commercial use, making a mockery of Tribunal Court orders. These violators have destroyed the character of a peaceful neighbourhood, converted a migrant property into an industrial hub, and saved lacs of rupees in statutory fees at the cost of the public exchequer. While ordinary citizens face strict action for minor deviations, the influential are given a free pass by @SMC_Srinagar. This is not development but organized lawlessness. @JKACB must act now and dismantle this nexus.

Illegal construction next to DPS Srinagar by Encash Mahindra. Residential permission is being illegally granted on commercial land and open commercial structures are coming up in residential zones in brazen defiance of Tribunal Court orders. This is facilitating massive fee evasion and putting the exchequer to heavy losses while @SMC_Srinagar officials conveniently look the other way. This was once a migrant property and today it is being abused to reward influential violators. If this is not corruption then the word has lost its meaning. @JKACB investigation must begin immediately to expose the entire chain. @OfficeOfLGJandK @DivComKash @srinagaradmin

At a time when unemployment is at its peak, it is astonishing that the Hon’ble Speaker of the House, Shri Rahim Rather, has chosen to grant a backdoor re-entry to his retired relatives at a key position, despite written directions from the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Such actions are a cruel joke on the people who gave this House its mandate and on countless qualified youth still waiting for opportunity. Public offices exist to serve the people’s trust, not personal discretion.

Mirwaiz’s decision to no longer project himself as Chairman of the Hurriyat on social media should not be seen as a small or symbolic move. It reflects political maturity and a clear understanding of present realities. History reminds us that responsible leaders adapt with time, even when it means stepping away from long-held labels, in order to protect their people from prolonged uncertainty and confrontation. This is a pragmatic step, and it deserves to be acknowledged as an effort to move forward with wisdom and responsibility.

Kashmiri students in Bengaluru have reached out to me with serious concerns of harassment in the name of repeated “verification.” It’s shocking that this is happening under an INDIA alliance led govt. I urge @OfficeOfLGJandK , @OmarAbdullah and @RuhullahMehdi to intervene and ensure dignity, safety and fair treatment especially for our female students.

In Kursoo Rajbagh near Muslim Public School, several households are facing a flood-like situation with rising waters threatening lives and property. Unfortunately, no timely assistance has reached them so far. I strongly urge the Irrigation & Flood Control Dept. to immediately provide boats, sandbags, and food supplies. It is deeply concerning that neither local MLAs nor ministers have stepped in to help these distressed families. I request the Hon’ble Lt Governor’s Office @OfficeOfLGJandK and Shri @manojsinha_ ji to intervene on priority and ensure relief measures are carried out without further delay. I also appeal to @JmuKmrPolice to extend all possible assistance in evacuation and safety. Our people cannot be left to suffer alone.

Shocked by the tragic incident near the revered Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra where a landslide claimed around 30 innocent lives due to heavy rains. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones. At the same time, rising water levels and flood threats in Kashmir are creating a grave situation. I appeal to Hon’ble LG Shri @manojsinha_ Ji to ensure all departments remain alert and responsive. Presently it is largely @KashmirPolice who are actively engaged on the ground while other agencies must also step up without delay. @OfficeOfLGJandK

Humein bura kaha gaya, magar asli bura toh unhone chuna, woh jo aaj Delhi mein baitha raha jab Kashmir apne shaheedon ko yaad kar raha tha. July 13 wasn’t just ignored. It was deliberately deserted. Power without memory is betrayal
Altaf Bukhari@SMAltafBukhari

It is ironic that, on one hand, the ruling National Conference speaks of honouring the martyrs of July 13, 1931, yet on the other, its leaders—backed by over 50 legislators—did not even make the effort to visit the martyrs' graveyard today to offer floral tributes on their anniversary. One can understand that this government failed to declare July 13 a gazetted holiday, because it lacked the will to do so. But what prevented the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues from visiting the graveyard to pay homage? Even if not in their official capacity, they could have gone as personal capacity. Doing so would neither have been a crime nor a violation of any law. Will they now tell us that the Chief Minister and his cabinet were not permitted to visit the graveyard today? If so, then it raises a serious question mark over the authority and integrity of this government. And if that is the case, what else can people expect from this government? I leave that question to the conscience of the Chief Minister and to the judgment of the National Conference’s leaders and workers. Some reports suggest that, instead of being present here on Martyrs' Day and visiting the Mazar-e-Shuhada to represent the sentiments of the people, he chose to stay in Delhi today. All I will say is that today stands as one of the saddest days in our history. Many across the country may not feel a deep connection to these martyrs—perhaps because they are unaware of the historical fact that these heroes in Kashmir stood against oppression and tyranny. Their sacrifices ultimately paved the way for the restoration of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. They will always remain our heroes.

Today is a test of government’s political will, of moral courage, and of respect for sacrifices that laid the foundation for democratic aspiration in J&K. In this silence, in this erasure, we are left to ask: if this government cannot even honour its own words, what hope is left for the people? May God be with us, because clearly, this leadership is not. #13July #MartyrsDay

Unacceptable! Barred from paying respects to martyrs of July 13th at #MazarrEShuda & party office. Large number of Police deployment outside my home reeks of authoritarianism. I condemn this blatant attempt to restrict my rights!

Denying access to Mazār-e-Shuhadā on July 13 is not just administrative overreach, it’s an erasure of our collective memory. The legacy of the 1931 martyrs belongs to the people, not to power politics. History won’t forget those who chose silence.

Deeply disappointed by the lack of coordination from the J&K administration. Kashmiri students evacuated from a war zone were left stranded in Delhi without proper onward support. While others got flights, our children got only SRTC buses after 4 days of exhausting travel. Why was a proper flight passage not arranged? Why this apathy?

J&K cabinet has asked the Sub-Committee to revise its report on Reservation Rules, citing ‘deficiencies’. The report saw little discussion despite being key agenda. CSC’s 6-month term ended on June 10. Students deserve clarity—not silence.

Appeal to Hon’ble LG @OfficeOfLGJandK to kindly take up the matter of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran. Requesting your good self to urgently speak to Hon’ble EAM @DrSJaishankar to ensure a safe and swift passage back home for them amid the ongoing crisis. Their families, in deep distress, await their safe return. Hoping for swift action.
