Just ask your authorities How strictly are the concerned authorities enforcing fire safety compliance in institutions and residential apartments especially at BBSR and Cuttack . It's better to abolish @DGFS_HGs_CD DG Fire Service Odisha as this is the most inefficient department just acting as a scapegoat .Not a single action has yet been initiated by this department or by @HUDDeptOdisha This incident reflects serious negligence and raises fundamental questions about your double engine governance since in power . It appears that focus is being placed more on PR narratives than on strengthening critical safety systems. The loss of lives in the SCB fire incident, followed by limited compensation and routine investigations, does little to address the root causes or restore public confidence. Public safety cannot be compromised even within government institutions. Fire safety systems are not optional; they are mandatory safeguards that require strict enforcement and continuous monitoring by all concerned authorities. The issue becomes even more alarming in the context of 689+ illegal apartments, where flat buyers have been given possession without Occupancy Certificates (OC) and adequate fire safety compliance. Such large-scale violations indicate systemic failure and lack of accountability. The continued inaction raises concerns about whether non-compliant builders are being shielded instead of being held responsible. If such structures pose a serious risk to human life, authorities must take decisive action even if it involves demolition to prevent future tragedies. At the same time, enforcement agencies such as the Fire Services Department must move beyond reactive responses. Proactive inspections, strict penalties, and zero tolerance for non-compliance are essential to prevent such incidents rather than merely responding after damage is done.
