Can the Nets parlay their luck with the same strategy for Trae Young? MPJ & Trae would create one of the better offensive duos in the eastern conference. Combined they would have cost the Nets 0 valuable picks. The Nets would Still maintain future cap flexibility, feature the youngest roster in the NBA, & have the most future draft picks in the NBA. At first I immediately scoffed at the idea. However if Trae is free, Sean Marks & the Nets may end up looking like geniuses for taking on the star point guard. The Nets would still have the future flexibility to pursue a longer term build, while having the talent to be just one star player from contention. In a normal rebuild teams must be bad to Have the opportunity to select star talent. However, this is far from a normal rebuild. 1. The Nets don’t currently own their 2027 1st round pick 2. The Nets own future firsts from the Knicks (4), 76ers, Nuggets & , Suns Because the Nets own so many valuable unprotected picks from other organizations they can afford to stay competitive while still expecting to draft high end lottery talent. Trae Young for free is an option the Nets may seriously consider. Can Sean Marks strike gold again on another underrated star?
