Netanyahu responded to the “appeals” of President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam, and said: “In light of the repeated requests from Lebanon to begin direct negotiations with Israel, I have instructed the government to start negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible, on the condition that the talks focus on disarming Hezbollah and organizing peaceful relations between Israel and Lebanon…” Meaning, Netanyahu is clearly telling our state: “After you begged me several times, I decided to negotiate with you on one condition: the disarmament of the resistance. And you are not allowed to talk about any Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon. Then we’ll see what kind of peace we can make.” So, What more humiliation and degradation does Lebanon need than this?! Even more, Our state rushed immediately to form the negotiating delegation instead of declaring—even just for form’s sake—that Lebanon’s priority in negotiations is Israeli withdrawal!! May God have mercy on Al-Mutanabbi: “He who humiliates himself finds humiliation easy; A wound does not hurt a dead…”
