@Christian_Dyer Nice rage bait. It has been fun going on the longest unbeaten run in UCL history, sure. As in, if Arsenal win it’s the most successful UCL campaign in the history of the UCL. Have a tea and hug someone bro. Sad.

Arsenal’s route to the final is insane. They’ve been playing Europa League football the whole way through ffs 🤣 Bilbao Atletico Olympiacos Club Brugge Slavia Praha Kairat Almaty Leverkusen Sporting Atletico A rude awakening likely awaits them against a proper side.

I've been in the depths of despair with depression. A state where nothing matters. No one can say anything to convince you otherwise. For those of you who've also been there or who are there now, what advice would you give others about how to speak with people in this state?

@ericweinstein @grok And also those reading it’s not hopeless, you aren’t depressed because the world is shit, which it always is, it’s an immune response. Got for a run or go have sex.

How to Explain Depression. First things first: it isn’t being down. Everyone has been down. Not everyone has been depressed. So you have to explain that two *very* different things are being confused. Q: What is Depression? Good question. I don’t know. But as near as I can figure out it’s a program that every brain has, but that hasn’t run even once in many brains. And some may never run the program. Some run it adaptively. Some can’t stop running it. It’s like a fire extinguisher required in all buildings. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean that building has ever used the extinguisher. So that is confusing! Q: Can it be modeled for those who have not experienced it? Yes! Good news. I believe it can. Here goes. Imagine you are in bed and someone literally fills up your home with waist deep molasses. It’s everywhere. Now you have to do normal things. Get up. Go to the shower. Brush your teeth. Answer the door. Cook a meal. Hopefully it occurs to you that now everything is a calculation. Can I make it to the closet to put on clothes? Is it worth getting up to brush my teeth? Do I have energy to get up. And what happens if you explain this to someone who calls and asks how you are doing? You say “I’m depressed!” They say “Cheer up!” Ok. What does that have to do with the molasses issue? NOTHING. Hence the mismatch. Q: Why would nature give us this program? Here is a guess. Depression stops people cold from doing things. Maybe it is an emergency override program for overriding absolutely everything on the rare occurrences when you need to stop all action to keep from damaging yourself and your kin through choices you are undertaking. Q: That sounds so exotic. Why is depression everywhere then?Unfortunately it seems like such an exotic program weirdly triggers too easily in many minds. Provably because we live in a modern world our biology hasn’t caught up with yet. ———- This post isn’t for people with depression. It is for all of you who live with people who have it. Hope it helps. Often the best thing you can do if you are kin to that person is to let them know that they aren’t failing you. That they matter to you. That you get that this is often being run against them not being chosen by them. And then hang in there for dear life. It’s impossible sometimes. But we gotta try. Because no one…and I mean no one… understands depression. I sure don’t. This is what little I’ve gleaned from loving, living and listening for decades to depression. Particularly around the holiday seasons. It’s a beast. Life and death really. So: Good luck out there. Rooting for you!

@ericweinstein @grok Everything worse. No one helps a shut down loser waiting for the immune/stress response to end. No one hugs, feeds, blah blah. That’s it. Pretty basic.

🇺🇸 OPINION: THE THERAPY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX - WHY YOUR $200/HOUR VALIDATION SESSION ISN'T FIXING ANYTHING Americans spent $77.6 billion on mental health services last year while depression and anxiety rates hit all-time highs. The therapy industry has convinced an entire generation that talking about your problems IS solving your problems. Here's what nobody's saying: Most therapy is just expensive friendship with someone who can't tell you you're wrong. A 2023 meta-analysis found that for mild-to-moderate depression, therapy performs barely better than placebo. For anxiety, the effect size has been declining since the 1980s as the industry expanded. Think about that. As therapy became more available and “destigmatized,” it somehow got less effective. Meanwhile, your therapist sees 6-8 clients per day at $150-300 per session. The business model requires you to believe you're broken in ways that take years to fix. Quick fixes don't pay for anyone's beach house. CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT - the alphabet soup of therapeutic approaches suggests a field with scientific rigor. Except practitioners routinely admit that “therapeutic relationship” matters more than methodology. In other words: It works when you vibe with someone who listens without judgment. That used to be called friendship. Insurance companies know this. That's why they cap sessions and demand “measurable outcomes.” The therapy lobby screams about stigma and access, but they're really fighting for the right to indefinitely bill for conversations. Here's the part that stings: For trauma, grief, or crisis intervention, therapy can be genuinely life-saving. Nobody's disputing that. But we've pathologized normal human struggles - breakups, job stress, existential dread - into billable disorders requiring professional intervention. Your great-grandmother dealt with actual trauma and never saw a therapist. She had community, purpose, and the understanding that life is hard and you handle it. Now we've outsourced emotional resilience to licensed professionals who've convinced us that feeling bad requires treatment rather than, say, changing your circumstances or accepting that existence involves suffering. The suicide rate hasn't budged despite therapy's massive expansion. Antidepressant prescriptions have tripled. ** We're treating symptoms of a sick society with individual band-aids. ** Don't think of it as mental healthcare. Think of it as monetized emotional fragility. The industry wants you in weekly sessions forever. Your wallet wants you to get a dog and some real friends. At least the dog won't ghost you when the insurance stops paying. I created a fully automated AI Marketing Infrastructure that replaces entire $180K+ marketing teams... (the exact system agencies charge $25K+ to build) here's what you get: → AI Business Intelligence Engine that knows your brand better than your team → Multi-Platform Content Generator (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, newsletters) → Content Waterfall Technology (1 idea = 15+ platform pieces) → Automated Publishing Infrastructure across 8+ platforms → Performance Optimization Loop that improves weekly → Lead Generation Automation that converts viewers to prospects → Voice Consistency System (sounds exactly like you wrote it) basically everything you need to automate your entire marketing operation while competitors still pay $15K+ monthly for mediocre content teams this complete Marketing Infrastructure puts you 2+ years ahead of the competition results so far: > $50K+ monthly content-attributed revenue > 5M+ organic views generated > 50+ qualified leads per month on autopilot > 90% reduction in marketing overhead Like + comment "INFRA" + repost (must be following so I can DM you)
