where 161 adolescent girls from different parts of Assam participated. In the morning participants were taken to visit Science Museum to give a first-hand experience and promotion of STEM among girls.

A state level programme for Adolescent Empowerment was organized on 26th February,2026 by Lok Bhavan, Assam in collaboration with Women and Child Development Department and UNICEF Assam as a part of Honourable Governor's "Sewa Sankalp Saptah" at AASC, Khanapara.

Document verification for Supervisor, Junior Assistant/LDA-cum-Typist, and Matron posts under WCD Assam will be held tomorrow, 7th November 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM. @himantabiswa @AjantaNeog @mygovassam

Around 200 state & district officials have already been trained in SBC in past years with support from UNICEF and ROSHNI- Lady Irwin College, Delhi.The Training on Rolling out of Water Quality Testing through Field Testing Kits was also held for all the Resource Pool members.

Shri Mukesh Chandra Sahu, PS to Govt.of Assam, Shri Gauri Shankar Sarmah, Director, DoWCD, dignitaries from UNICEF Assam, Jal Jeevan Mission among others were present at the event. Saksham Anganwadi functionaries across the state will be trained using the modules.

ToT meet2025 was held on 19th aug at Guwahati, where the participants-Resource Pool members from all ICDS projects of the state participated . Further, WCD, Assam in collaboration with UNICEF released two training modules on social & behaviour change in context of nutrition

✨ The Directorate of W&CD celebrated the 79th Independence Day with pride. 🇮🇳 Director Shri Gauri Shankar Sharma hoisted the National Flag, followed by 🌸 cultural performances by State Bal Bhavan children, whose melodious songs & graceful acts 🎶 filled the occasion with joy.

Along with Director and other higher officers of the department were attended the closing session, delivered a concluding address, and motivated the officers to become capable and dedicated on there field.

A six-day Orientation Programme was organized by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Assam, for the newly appointed Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) at the Assam Administrative Staff College from 16th to 21st June, 2025.

Anganwadi Services, Mission Shakti, ECCE, Office Activities etc. They were also visited NRC (Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre), GMCH, Anganwadi Centre, State Home for Women Jalukbari and briefly explained functions of each centres by Senior Officials.
