@davidtjbrennan @80Level A.I. can only generate a voice by using actual recordings of that person's voice. By doing that you're taking away that person's right to control what they say or sing for themselves. It's a violation of their freedom of choice, whether you use it to "replace" anything or not.

@davidtjbrennan @80Level No one has a right to use any artist's voice except that artist. Using their voice without their permission IS doing harm to them. Develop your own voice or find something else to do with your time.

@AssetTheSeries @80Level I never intended to steal anything like a fairy-tale villain. Only doing stuff for fun and no harm in it. It IS a defence of my place. There are some people who likes making AI covers of songs for entertainment besides me.

That data is often taken without permission. We cannot normalize this.

Ha, so many thought these apps were free. Here’s the bill. This is the reason I’ve stopped posting my photography online, and am gradually deleting any that’s already out there. Whether it’s already been absorbed or not, I like the act of removing it from their sight now anyway.

@opinonhaver You misunderstand. The argument is that using machine to do a thing for you, isn't the same as doing the thing. If you use your phone to order food from a fancy restaurant, it does not then follow that you are now a gourmet chef.

At the core of a lot of the anti-AI stuff is an argument no one really wants to say out loud: ‘it should be harder to do things’. tbh I don’t think this argument is entirely without merit, I think friction is good in some processes. but let’s be upfront about what we’re saying.
