@stevehou It takes dicipline to do nothing when it is warranted. Very well done. Completely different thing than Europe and its arms and energy industry 2010s. That is the bad side of doing nothing.

Candidly, China is kinda winning here. Other than issuing some most generic statements, they haven't said or done anything for anyone throughout this whole thing. After this whole thing is over, countries may be glad or mad at the US/Israel but few will be mad at China.

It genuinely speaks to the resiliency of the US economy that it holds up so well against absolutely mind-bogglingly stupid economic policies. I guess whatever dumb policies the US cooks up with, there's always Europe that goes "hold my beer".

Imagine the US but without the self-immolating economic policies.

🚨🚨🚨 I have supported Trump since day one. Trump is literally threatening massive war crimes against a country that he started a war with. I believe that this is probably an impeachable offense, or even could invoke Article 25. I'm not talking about the baseless impeachments the Democrats hit him with. I mean legitimate impeachments. This is not a limited operation, so Trump also declared war without the approval of Congress, which he has had plenty of time to try to obtain. Another impeachable offense. It takes a special level of unhinged to make such a statement as Trump did today. This seems like an act of desperation. He knows that he has opened Pandora's box.

The President of the United States learned that Robert Mueller had died. And he picked up his phone and typed: “Good. I’m glad he’s dead.” I need you to stop. Put down whatever you’re doing and feel the full weight of those words. Good. I’m glad he’s dead. Said by the man who holds the most powerful office in the history of human civilization. The office of Washington. Of Lincoln. Of Roosevelt standing in the rubble of Pearl Harbor promising a nation trembling in the dark that we would rise. That office. Those words. Now let me tell you who Robert Mueller was. He did not have to go to Vietnam. He had every reason not to. A Princeton degree. A blown-out knee. A future waiting for him in the comfort of civilian life. He waited a full year for that knee to heal, just so he could serve. Let that sink in. He walked into hell when other men were running from it. He came home with a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart soaked in the blood of his sacrifice. He spent the next four decades standing in the breach, as a prosecutor, as FBI Director, as the man who held this nation together in the smoldering ash of September 12th, 2001, when we were all afraid and we needed someone steady, someone serious, someone who loved this country more than he loved himself. He was all of those things. He was a Republican. He was, by every honest measure, an American hero. And the President danced on his grave.

Reminder that Mueller indicted 26 Russians and 8 Americans for working together to interfere with the election. All 8 Americans were convicted in court, but 5 were pardoned by Trump.

If the Market pukes HARD into Trump’s deadline, then he’ll have to TACO. Unfortunately, the bloody monkeys are expecting that so they will pre-emptively buy the Market, thus nullifying the setup for a TACO. Basically, blame the monkeys for WW3 😭

Imo Xi actually a moderate when it comes to IR. Certainly much more so than his economic policies. Just look at how China has handled its relationships with the so called rogue nations. He’s not necessarily a moderate on Taiwan which is different than his position towards the US. Xi considers Taiwan a core interest for China (sovereignty, civilizational dignity, and geopolitical security) and an ultimately transnational interest for the US. If Xi could ship TSMC and the related semiconductor industry to the US in exchange for the US to allow China to peacefully swallow Taiwan he’d do it in a heartbeat. On the flip side, would the US be willing to fight a kinetic war with China over Taiwan’s freedom if the Taiwanese semiconductor industry wasn’t part of the consideration?
