Got curious about the “Casablanca” credit “based on the play Everybody Comes to Rick’s.” The screenwriters downplay the connection to the show but I tracked down a copy. Wow - it is the film. Nowhere near as good or magical. But plot, characters & sometimes whole scenes are here!

Today was my wife’s bday and my daughter wrote her a card that said “you’re not getting older, you’re getting wiser and more beautiful!” and I flashed back to several months ago when she gave me a birthday card that said “you’re so old and so bald! how are you not dead yet?”
