Jordanian-Palestinian journalist Hiba Abu Taha received a two-year prison sentence for criticizing the Jordanian air defense’s interception of Iranian missiles aimed at "israel."
Hiba was also unjustly arrested in May 2024 over a critical article on Jordan’s role in the Gaza genocide. She was released in February 2025 after serving her sentence.

BREAKING: Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran was targeted in US-Israeli strikes on Friday, according to Iranian media. They also reported attacks on Mehrabad International Airport, west of the capital city.
Iran has reported that at least 21 universities and 600 schools and education centers have been destroyed or damaged by US-Israeli strikes since the start of the war.

Arizona, Connecticut and Illinois all attempted to apply anti-gambling laws to platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket.
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission says that's unconstitutional. Prediction markets operate under federal licenses.
States don't get to override that.
Billions in venture capital are riding on the outcome. Sportsbooks are watching closely. So are state attorneys general of both parties who think Washington is overreaching.
The fight over who gets to regulate prediction markets is just getting started.

🇮🇱 An Israeli air force major is accused of using classified briefings on Iran strikes to help place bets, netting $162,663 before splitting the profits via crypto. Prosecutors say he provided real-time updates during the operation, refining bets as warplanes were en route. But this isn’t the only case… At least 3 more air force members were questioned over similar betting tied to the June 2025 strikes. And another incident involved Polymarket users threatening a journalist to influence the language of his coverage and swing their bets. Not sure how to feel about all this. Missile debris hit gas facilities in Abu Dhabi
Air defenses intercepted the attack, but fragments sparked a fire at Habshan, the UAE’s largest gas processing site, forcing a shutdown for the second time since the war began.
This site feeds domestic energy and connects to a key oil pipeline to Fujairah.
Hours earlier, Kuwait’s Mina Al Ahmadi refinery and a power and desalination plant were also hit.
No injuries reported, but critical energy infrastructure is now directly in the line of fire.
Even “successful” interceptions are still causing damage on the ground.
