@FBantor *if you have ~£1000 to spend at a music festival Having £1000 obv doesn't make u middle class, but middle class ppl are far far far more likely to have access to this kind of spending cash for a festival.

@FBantor If you have ~£1000 (the actual likely investment in 5/6 days at Glasto or a similar festival), you're more likely to be middle class. Ppl like Ben Smoke making the point abt middle class ppl is a point. If u live somewhere that is in the process of gentrification u get the point.

@FBantor So soon enough, all festivals are too pricey for about 50% of the population. This fucking sucks.

@FBantor Ppl are being priced out of music festivals HARD, and that's an issue. Charging £340 for Glasto will mean that the festival becomes ever more middle class and that will have an impact on the culture of the festival. Glasto prices will also b a weathervane for general pricing.

@TheArtOfAsty Basically a tabloid outlet livestreamed a cabbage sitting in front of a camera as a joke on who will perish first, Truss or this Cabbage. The Cabbage won.

@MetalShayne2000 Yeah this would be the dream, but sadly you need a lot of funding. People are very happy to read stuff for free, not so happy to pay for it! Umfortunately the Ads/clickbait model is a strong one, but also one that compromised editorial integrity a LOT.

This is true even when a substantial chunk of your followers are music fans who’re into the same kind of music you’re posting about. Not even Music Twitter likes music recommendations.

Jon Bois@jon_bois

in terms of engagement the biggest dud you can tweet out is a link to music you like. every so often i’m like “this song by jimmy jammy’s good times rockin’ gang was so important to me when i was 22” and it’ll get 7 likes and one reply asking me to do a video about luol deng
