Expansion teams I can excuse they barely got staff together in time for rookie draft ofc they didn't know what was gonna happen. The Sceptres not using their young guns... and trading away O'Brien for Shelton on the other hand... sounds like a Troy Ryan team

@IanKennedyCK @meanorus I read the article. I mean, he's not wrong. Had the Sceps not been robbed in the expansion draft, players like Julia Gosling who is having a season with the Torrent, might have pulled up the rear. Don't at me bro, but Fast is literally giveaway central this season.

Love the PWHL's new "Everyone Watches Women's Hockey" t-shirts...but a t-shirt that is $98.90 after taxes and shipping isn't a shirt the average fan can afford.
That's just a weird gouge, in my opinion, for a fan base who fervently supports the league through merch sales.

@TheHockeyNewsW @PatLaprade Two things (1) I think it's insane that Watts makes such low money. The PWHL is not set up to reward top performers and (2) in many ways this isn't too bad, if it is USD, you get a living stipend of $2,200/month and meals before/after games.

Reached out to PWHLPA executive director Malaika Underwood. The PWHLPA continues to only provide salary information with players and agents.

This is beside the point but a women's hockey reporter saying that $84,000 for a professional hockey player is a 'hefty' salary is absolutely wild.

Couple items here.
DeGeorge's contract was guaranteed, so she must have willingly waived that aspect of her contract to be released.
This appears to be the workaround since this deal didn't (couldn't?) go through as a trade without a player or pick moving in both directions.

Interesting to see the transaction called a release and sign for Clair DeGeorge. I guess that’s how it had to be labeled by the league and it’s probably why we didn’t hear about the deal last night. Must be an issue with it being a trade for “futures.” Will look to confirm.
