I started this project 4 months ago and it’s finally done. Here is my final image of the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy (M83) in HaLRGB. Telescope - TS Photoline 140, camera - ASI2600MM, integration time - 60 hours. Captured from Newlands, Cape Town (Bortle 7/8) #astrophotography #m83

What do you do when you get out to dark skies? Well, it’s obvious, right? You capture one of the most iconic objects in the sky….The Horse Head Nebula. This is a little under three hours using the SW Esprit 100 and the ASI2600MC Pro, captured from beautiful Gecko Rock reserve.

The Cobra and Mouse (NGC 2442 and NGC 2443) are two parts of a single intermediate spiral galaxy. It is about 50 million light-years away in the constellation Volans. This is the first part of this project consisting of luminance data. Colour to follow. #astrophotography #galaxy
