Peter is currently working on the construction of the first private dark sky remote observatory in South Africa. We are looking forward to it. More news on this is the coming weeks.

Many thanks to @AstroCapetown for the lovely image of the object M 83 (PinWheel Galaxy) in HaLRGB. The image was taken with a TS-Optics Photoline 140 mm Apo in the Newlands of South Africa at a bortle scale of 7 to 8. The total integration time was 70 hours.

The first image from July 16, 2025 was taken by Gianluca Masi, the founder of Virtual Telescope (virtualtelescope.eu). The image was taken with a PlaneWave 17" f/6.8 (432 / 2939 mm) telescope, a Paramount MEII mount and an SBIG STL-6303E camera.
