@TBGeneration Nike selling the Destroyer jacket (its a varisty jacket at the end of the day) for $500+….there’s making a profit and then there’s just flat out greed.

@AstroHamp Deadass , I only by the Shai’s bc one it’s only $140 retail AND it’s one of the few shows that are fly, comfortable, and most importantly….AFFORDABLE ! These companies can blame inflation or the tariffs…but we all know the “bottom line” is what drives these companies the most.

@TBGeneration Perfect example is Teyana Taylor’s last Jordan colab. There was absolutely zero reason for that shoe retail at almost $300. The CDP packs were just over $300 after tax Packs now are $500+.

@TBGeneration Yeah but even when you think about that it makes it worse. The average shoe is costing companies maybe $20-25 (speciality pairs maybe a bit more) per pair now a days to make given tariffs and everything else. When does it stop being just profit and become greed.

@TBGeneration Lack of personal identity. Most buyers today buy for the flick and the moment not because of actual interest. If I have the hot shoe and can get a fit check pic off then flip it for profit that’s more important. Then there’s the whole everyone’s a reseller bit….

Honestly- it’s a combo of multiple things. Windy does have a point though👟 (1) The leagues best players are international with no real marketability. The American talent we do have, they’re starting to go to other brands like Adidas (AE) and NB (Coop, Maxey). (2) The best colorways be PE’s that the general person will never touch. Actual GR pairs just doesn’t match the actual demand and liking of the consumer (3) Over-saturation of the market: A tactic used to minimize resale, actually resulted in the desensitization of the consumer. What else adds to the decline ? 🧐
