@elonmusk Several reasons these data centers are not good. Heat, Light pollution, EMF / ELF affecting health of people nearby, Power usage, water usage that is raising cost for everyone in these states. We say we care about the environment. Data centers are worse than burning fossil fuels

@Toni_108n9 @cqcqcqdx Easily seen in the lower right an upper left corner of this image. The bright white is light pollution. No person should need to use a camera to see the Milky Way. Everyone should be able to walk outside an see it naked eye regardless where you live. City , Suburbs, Country, etc.

@Toni_108n9 @cqcqcqdx While these images were taken around midnight last summer during a time of very little astro dark you can clearly see the sky that faces the city being extremely bright in the sodium vapor "orange lamp" image.

@Toni_108n9 @cqcqcqdx I have been doing astrophotography for 7 years. When I started I lived in a bortle 5 "I have not moved". 7 years later due to LED's its now a Bortle 7. This is a unacceptable practice.

@Toni_108n9 @cqcqcqdx All lights should be turned off. We waste energy keeping lights on all night long. Along with the negative side effects on animals an plant life.

@Scivf4 it is modern day alchemy. Science started out as alchemy until someone"s" decided to name the branches of science to dissociate it with what is referred to as the dark arts, witchcraft , magik, alchemy at that period of time.

Growing bismuth crystals in your kitchen feels less like cooking and more like practicing a form of modern-day alchemy.

@WallStreetMav That is actually not why consumer ram is expensive. AI uses EEC ram in the servers not desktop ram. The consumer ram price increase was due to greedy hoarders that bought up the stock an put them up for sale for a higher price due to the EEC ram shortage for AI servers.

Future GOES satellites will no longer carry space weather instruments. ‼️ It is really concerning to see the gaps that would occur with no current plan for future instruments regarding energetic particles, x-ray, and disk imagery. Time to really start advocating for these need!

@REV_Insulin_Res @AJamesMcCarthy If you've got Pixinsight there's a Seti Astro plug-in that identifies all of the stars and objects in photos. It's called "What’s In My Image Script". It's VERY detailed, it'll spot just about anything! Setiastro.com

The other night, we took an image of M51. I noticed a faint object (circled). Maybe an even more distant galaxy? What is the quickest way to identify these objects? @AJamesMcCarthy
