I’m amazed at how many of you want Bishop Barron to take the third step with Dave Rubin before he takes the first two. I see many of you talking about how Jesus “told sinners to repent” but none of you seem aware of the pattern of Jesus calls for individuals to repent. He established a relationship and he went from there. It was the self-righteous Religious who chastise Jesus for eating with sinners. How do we miss this? Jesus didn’t then respond to their criticism by standing up and yelling at them to repent; he told them that the sick need a doctor. Not those who are well. I would invite each of us to work at the skill at being horrified by our own sin and fixating on that. That’s how Saints get made. Not by running around worrying about everyone else’s.

Mark Lambert - Catholic Unscripted Podcast
It is striking that when major doctrinal controversies erupt in the Church, even EWTN and @RaymondArroyo often find themselves going all the way to Astana for episcopal clarity. Think about that. On something as obviously problematic as the Synod’s Study Group No. 9 report, why are Catholics so often hearing the clearest theological critique from Bishop Schneider in Kazakhstan rather than from large sections of the Western episcopate? This is not about personalities. It points to a deeper ecclesial problem. Too many bishops in the modern West increasingly sound like cautious administrators managing institutional risk rather than successors of the Apostles proclaiming divine revelation with supernatural confidence. Meanwhile, bishops formed under persecution, ideological hostility or cultural marginalisation often speak with remarkable clarity because they understand something essential: the Church does not negotiate revelation with the spirit of the age. Perhaps the growing global audience for figures like Schneider reflects something deeper happening within Catholicism itself. Many faithful Catholics are searching far beyond their own dioceses for the doctrinal clarity they no longer consistently hear at home.

The claim about all jurisdiction coming from the pope seems to me out of place since that (unlike his universal jurisdiction) isn't a point of faith. But apart from that, a magnificent declaration.
Diane Montagna@dianemontagna

JUST IN: SSPX Superior General Fr. Davide Pagliarani addresses Declaration of Catholic Faith to Pope Leo XIV. sspx.org/en/news/declar… It comes one day after the Vatican’s doctrinal office formally reiterated that proceeding with episcopal consecrations on July 1 will constitute an “act of schism.” The Declaration reads: Most Holy Father, For more than fifty years, the Society of Saint Pius X has endeavored to set before the Holy See a matter of conscience in the face of the errors that are destroying Catholic faith and morals. Regrettably, all the discussions entered into have remained without result, and none of the concerns expressed have received any truly satisfactory response. For more than fifty years, the only solution truly considered by the Holy See has appeared to be that of canonical sanctions. To our great regret, it seems to us that canon law is thus being used, not to confirm in the Faith, but to lead away from it. In the text that follows, the Society of Saint Pius X is glad to express to You, filially and sincerely, its devotion to the Catholic Faith, concealing nothing, either from Your Holiness or from the Universal Church. The Society places this simple Declaration of Faith in Your hands. It seems to us to correspond to the minimum indispensable to be in communion with the Church, and to truly call ourselves Catholics and, consequently, your sons. We have no other desire than that of living and being confirmed in the Roman Catholic Faith. Read full declaration of the Catholic Faith here: sspx.org/en/news/declar…
