Naegohyang Women, from North Korea capital Pyongyang, have recorded a historic victory in South Korea to reach the AFC Champions League final. A 2-1 victory at Suwon, based 40 kilometers south of South Korean capital Seoul, saw Naegohyang progress to Saturday’s final against Tokyo Verdy Beleza. No North Korean sports delegation had competed on southern soil since December 2018, when a unified Korean table tennis team competed at a tournament in Incheon. After an #NWSL record 63,004 at Mile High, Denver Summit has gone back-to-back sellouts at DSG of ~17,000. NC Courage also just had back-to-back sellouts of ~10,000 — marked, needed progress after years of trying to grow crowds in Cary. (Still need long-term facility upgrades.)

Como’s men’s team has done incredible this season in the Serie A, and qualified for Europe. But don’t forget, Como’s women’s team also had an incredible season and won the Serie B Femminile. 👏🏾 USWNT legend Heather O'Reilly is head of women's football for Como. “Listen, this was something I was not expecting to come into my life,” she told U.S. Soccer podcast. “This was a little bit random, I was doing various things like some television work and some coaching, and I really sort of was enjoying both of those avenues, but I didn't know what exactly or where exactly I wanted to put my energies fully. “And then the TST tournament, I came in contact with these people from Como because they were in our group play the first year of TST. “We were both out of the tournament. So me just being friendly and trying to be a nice host, because I live in North Carolina, I thought it was a nice thing to do. “I was like, let's have a bit of a party after our game together, right? Like, let's get the apple spritz. We'll order some pizza. “We had a wonderful little pasta party after the game, and not like I got the job the next day, but I think that they kept me in mind as somebody, as they were growing their women's side of their club. “So about a year after the infamous pasta party, they offered me the position to sort of head up their women's department, meaning they had a team, but it was like, recreational point, and they knew that I wanted to live in the States. “Like I said, I have a young family. My husband, Dave, is trying to start a business, and so it wasn't the time for us to completely move to Europe. And I was very clear on that. “But they said that's fine. Do it remotely. This is more of an advisor role, and come over as much as you can. And so for the last two years, I have been going over to Italy about once a month for about four or five days at a time. “We were in the fourth division. And so I had to find some staff and some players to try to win fourth division. “Then we moved up to Serie B, which is obviously the second division, and only one team playing gets promoted. “And so I put together an excellent staff, and that excellent staff helped me find some players that were ready to roll up their sleeves and face this wonderful challenge of trying to win Serie B, right? “And we just sealed the league. We won Serie B. We are promoted to Serie A. It was huge with three games to go. So we convincingly won the league.” What a job O’Reilly is doing in Italy 🙌🏾

Character is one of the most cited reasons for signing or rejecting a player, and one of the least defined. The clubs doing it well have worked out how to turn it into something a scout can actually verify. tacticsjournal.com/research/2026-…

🇮🇹 10 years ago Serie A was not one of Europe's established big leagues. Now, with Italy's biggest clubs, big name players, and a national team beginning to thrive, the outlook is very different. I spoke to the league's president, Federica Cappelletti, about the progress...

Last week, Brighton chairman Tony Bloom gave the green light to the project called ‘Built For Her’. The club owner will fund the construction of the first purpose-built women’s stadium in the UK and Europe, which will cost around £75m to £80m and be built by 2030 at the latest. It is a statement of intent, a signal to the WSL and the rest of the world that Brighton continue to push boundaries in the women’s game. “This isn’t just about building a football stadium,” said Brighton CEO Paul Barber. “This is historical for our sport and country.” 📝 @CharlotteHarpur bit.ly/3Qvv1Ps

UEFA has 55 member associations, combined annual revenues exceeding €4 billion, and some of the most sophisticated football development infrastructure on the planet. CAF has 54 member associations, the most naturally talented football continent in the world, and a development gap that has consistently prevented that talent from being realised at home. Today in Vancouver, the two confederations signed a Memorandum of Understanding that is specifically designed to start closing that gap between Europe and other continents. Some of the best players in European football came from around the world. The list runs back decades and it runs deep. UEFA knows this. CAF knows this. What today's agreements acknowledge is that the relationship between the three continents cannot continue to be built purely on individual talent leaving Africa for Europe. It needs structure, investment and a formal framework behind it. The MoU runs until June 30 2031 and covers seven specific areas. -Youth and women's football, including the partner confederations member associations participating in selected UEFA youth competitions. -Football development programmes through the UEFA Together initiative. -Coach education and the sharing of technical knowledge across both confederations. -Referee development, with elite officials gaining international experience through each other's competitions. -Institutional knowledge exchange including observer programmes at major tournaments. -Education and capacity development with access to UEFA Academy programmes. -And governance coordination with regular progress reviews to ensure delivery. UEFA has already signed similar agreements with CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. African football is now formally part of that continental development framework. CAF president Patrice Motsepe has spoken about building African football into one of the best in the world. This agreement is the most concrete structural step toward that ambition that has been taken in years. Check the link below to see a copy of the MoU. editorial.uefa.com/resources/02a4… My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer.
