Storage Deposits 📥 • GNOT is locked as a storage deposit whenever data is persisted in a realm. • The current storage price is about 1 GNOT per 10 KB. More smart contracts = more data = more GNOT locked. • The more storage-efficient your smart contract is, the more likely the users will choose your app to avoid paying extra storage deposits. • Deposits are returned to users once the data gets cleaned up. • Gno.land’s design makes on-chain storage scarce and sustainable while encouraging efficient code and active data management • Owning $GNOT means reserving ownership of storage on Gno.land

My personal opinion: I will say this time and time again. The #1 problem with Cosmos is the lack of unique products. It has always been, and if we don’t realize it, we will go down the same dead end street.
Sure @cosmoslabs_io recently made it a little more hostile for builders (which they are looking to change and I am optimistic for). I was a victim of this and saw it first-hand.
However the root cause is much deeper. There has been zero true innovation in Cosmos vs EVM. I think we’ve learned the hard way. Copycats don’t work. EVM equivalents win. “on Cosmos” isn’t enough. DEX on Cosmos (@osmosis), NFT marketplace on Cosmos (@StargazeZone), RWAs on Cosmos.
While I disagree with the full enterprise focus, that is true unique value-add, exclusive to @cosmos. SDK is unique value-add. Modules are. CosmWASM was. IBC is.
Cosmos EVM really isn’t (although it can inspire it so I think it’s necessary).
The real issue is: how do we attract builders to build unique products exclusive to Cosmos?

Cosmos Labs has turned Cosmos into a ghost town. They came in with the expressed intent of “killing the old Cosmos” but failed to present anything remotely interesting to replace it. There’s so much exciting stuff happening in the world right now. Privacy, Sovereign AI, End of Pax Americana. The time for cypherpunk crypto is now. But instead ATOM has pivoted to enterprise sales. A billion dollar market cap for what is now effectively a consulting dev shop. And that too, one that hasn’t even been able to land any deals of note.
