This is happening all over - it’s like the ladder got pulled up.

My friend who is a CTO of a 50-person $100M ARR startup: "We used to hire 2 juniors for every senior. We’ve hired 0 juniors since 2024. The seniors are 3x more productive with AI. I don’t even have a pipeline of junior hires anymore"

@Dimillian Jumping in late, but curious. With your Swift and native Apple background, what made you go with a totally new stack here? I’m guessing cross-platform and speed were part of it, but would love to hear the thinking.

Codex Monitor is built the way I would build software before. Every feature is handcrafted and tested 100 times until it's exactly what I want.
The only difference is that I didn't write a single line of code, I used a tech stack I never used before, and I barely looked at the code.
I just used my software engineering skills to keep the code organized and ensure it was in a good enough shape.
Also, the app did not exist a week ago.
Also, I made it maybe 1000% faster than I would if I were writing the code myself.
If you think programming the way you know it is not dead, you might want to think again.
If you think AI code is "poor", you might want to think again.
If you think there is any virtue signaling in "my code is better than AI", you might want to think again.
