Ineos has done a great job winning races this year, but their attempts at GC have been pretty bad in terms of form, race selection, and strategy.

All RB has done this year is hammer descents and ride for the podium. Looking forward to them doing nothing with Remco and Lipowitz in a group with an isolated Vingegaard.

@marcus121413852 @NairoInGreen Hagenes had just done a huge 25 second turn that closed the gap to 3 seconds. Are you really expecting him to come up form third wheel ten seconds later and do all the work in the final 2kms?

@AtticusCCrow @NairoInGreen He would probably have pulled if Van der Poel didn't sit up, he wanted vermeersch to do the last turn to catch vdp, to give himself the best chance. Can't really blame him. But Hagenes who easily won the sprint on the otherhand.....

@marcus121413852 @NairoInGreen If you’re not going to pull, then have the decency to not sit second wheel like Dewulf. Even if he just rolls through and sits on the back without doing any work they probably catch MVDP.

@RyanAWagMMA Yeah, I don’t think the average person realizes how small a chimp actually is. But kangaroos are basically smaller bipedal deer without the risk of antlers (down to being most dangerous when they jump in front of you in the road).

@Tratnikstan It’s dumb if the goal was to gain time in GC, but he clearly cared about the stage. It’s not like this is a GT where maximizing GC chances is everything. And the UAE Tour ITT is RBs only WT win this year, plus they just podiumed TA and PN. A stage here would be good for everyone.

Remco's attack wasn't even that dumb today: group cooperation wasn't the best at that point + it would take a while to set up a full Visma/Bora train as domestiques were somewhat cooked
If Jonas fully commits, they easily gain 20+s as well as 10-16 bonis from the finish + sprint

Ronde van Brugge’s start list is dreadful: No Visma or RB (no Brennan/Meeus), no Merlier, no Milan, no Kooij, no Lund, no Magnier, no De Lie, no Bini/Vernon. Even Jayco has Mezgec not Ackermann.
