What happes now? Delimitation WILL STILL HAPPEN after the first census post-2026. The 84th Amendment has frozen only until 2026. Once the constitutional mechanism kicks in, you'll have delimitation based on population, and the enacting act will require a simple majority.

Will this be covered from the same central tax pool? Given that South Indian states already see relatively lower returns on the direct taxes they contribute, would this further reduce their share? East India: 2 करोड़ 58 लाख — 12.08% West India: 2 करोड़ 87 लाख — 13.44% South India: 4 करोड़ 61 लाख — 21.56% North India: 10 करोड़ 67 लाख — 49.85% अब ending point के लिए हमारे पास 2011 Census है। इसमें इन चारों रीजन्स की क्या आबादी थी? North India की आबादी लगातार 90 सालों तक — 1881 से 1971 तक 1881 वाले share से नीचे गिरती रही। 49.85% से गिरते-गिरते 1971 में 41.90% — lowest point। इसी दौरान South? लगातार 90 सालों तक बढ़ती रही। 21.56% से बढ़ कर 1951 में 26.08% peak। ये 1881 के share से 5% ज़्यादा था। यानी जब South अपने peak पे था तब North अपने lowest पे था। और ठीक उसी समय delimitation पे embargo लगा। अब cumulative growth देखिए। 1881 से 2011 तक: National average growth: 465% Eastern India: 535% Western India: 500% Southern India: 444% Northern India: 427% पढ़िए फिर से। Northern India 427%। चारों में सबसे कम। National average से 39% कम। South से भी 17% कम। East से पूरे 108% कम। अगर 1881 से 1951 तक देखें 70 साल तो? South: 104% growth — FIRST RANK East: 89% — SECOND West: 67% — THIRD North: 44% — LAST शुरू के 70 सालों में सबसे ज़्यादा आबादी किसकी बढ़ी? South की। सबसे कम? North की। यानी 150 साल के census data से ये crystal clear है North is NOT the culprit of population explosion। And South is NOT the posterboy of population control। अरे भई UP का share 1881 में 20.94% था। 1971 में? 15.30%। ये किसी भी state का सबसे बड़ा fall था। UP की population 1901 से 1921 तक negative growth में थी famines और 1918 Spanish Flu ने तबाही मचाई। Hindi belt की population 1881 से 1921 तक 40 साल virtually stagnant रही। This is among the least known facts of the demographic history of Modern India. और contrary to popular propaganda सबसे ज़्यादा आबादी बढ़ी Eastern India की (535%) और उसके बाद Western India की (500%)। पर उन्हें जनसंख्या वृद्धि के लिए कोई गाली नहीं देता। गाली किसे देते हैं? जिसकी सबसे कम बढ़ी North को। This is the power of propaganda and narrative control.

As a South Indian, my view on delimitation South India has been doing the hard things right for decades, controlled population, investing in education, building strong economies, and contributing a disproportionate share to the country’s taxes and growth. And now, with delimitation, it feels like that is being penalised, not rewarded ❌ States like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh focused on sustainable growth and governance, while population-heavy states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar now stand to gain more political power purely due to numbers. Southern states contribute a disproportionately high share to India’s GDP and tax pool: - Tamil Nadu → manufacturing powerhouse - Karnataka → tech & startup capital - Telangana → pharma & IT growth - Andhra Pradesh → infrastructure & exports This creates a troubling signal: Do the right things → lose influence Ignore them → gain representation It’s not just about seats in Parliament, it’s about losing a voice in shaping the country’s future, despite contributing significantly to it. As a South Indian, this doesn’t feel like fair representation. It feels like the rules are changing in a way that undermines progress and shifts power away from those who earned it.

If you have the time and are traveling on a budget to #Japan here's some tips which will save you some money. - Over night buses are super cheap in Japan. In fact you can save on stay costs, also on taking overnight buses. Willer Bus. Osaka to Tokyo Overnight bus costs approx. ₹ 2900. They have dynamic pricing so book well in advance. 3 months prior you can book your tickets - Discount Ticket Shops. They buy them in bulk and sell them individually. You can save 5% on the actual cost. Understand which ticket you want and then can purchase the same from the shop. (Pic below from one such shop which I used on my visit) - Passes have become expensive but some passes are still relevant if taken as per the plan. One such pass is the JR Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass. 17000 Yen / ₹ 9,962 if you plan to visit Hiroshima from Osaka or Kyoto and be in the area for 5 days minimum. Return fare on Shinkasen normals is ₹ 10000 so post that trip the passport pays for itself when you use it locally etc. Local JR buses around Kyoto and Hiroshima are included. JR ferry to Miyajima included. + a few other places you can use. Still unclear then check Japan Rail Pass Calculator here japan-guide.com/railpass/ - Another one is the Osaka Amazing Pass if you plan to visit many attractions in the city and also commute with public transport - Klook keeps giving 5% - 20% on train bookings so check the same before booking - Check for private rooms in hostels if dorms are not your thing - Ryokans are a cheap way to stay. Book directly with them. Many have websites in Japanese but with translate option in browser they help you book. Make sure to check timings as many dont allow entry post 10 pm etc. If planning to stay at one respect the local and their traditions. - Shukubo (Temple) is another option to stay for cheap. Mandatory Veg food will be served or to be consumed in the premises. Trip.com lists them them - Lunch is cheaper than Dinner in Japan - MyMizu app shows all public spaces and restaurants where you can get your bottle filled with drinking water - Small restaurants in the Metro/Train stations have really good cheap food options. I have had a few meals when passing by. Rice and curry with buttermilk. Carry Japanese plycard on mobile which u can show to tell need all veg just in case. - 7/11 is the OG but also check Lawson 100. Everything is 100 Yen.
